- DA leader, John Steenhuisen has slammed new political parties who are
gunning for the Western Cape, during a Biz News conference.
He says new formations should've formed part of the so-called moonshot pact, but are instead positioning themselves against the opposition rather than fighting the ANC.

You cannot force the people to vote for party they feel it does not represent them, only 88 seats, then you blame the new parties for saying hey, we are different to the DA and the ANC.

Why don't they mention that the delivery of basic services in Cape Town are better than the rest of the country for ALL citizens? Are you going to electrify and build plumbing and roads for people settling on private property? flood plains? fire breaks? Rail lines? What do you do when 87,000 enter your city in a year. Are you going to magically give them all services? And then how are you going to pay for it given that the vast majority of the people coming in don't pay rates and taxes?
How do you treat all that sewage? Where does it go?

I don't stand for BEE or affirmative action but my ancestors were allowed to study anything, weren't allowed to take up certain jobs and even if they were the most talented they couldn't proceed in the job market. I know of many coloured people that trained white people only for them to get ahead. White people are so touched now that they are disadvantaged now but non of them ever want to recognize the true hurt that people of colour experience.
They want BEE to be done away with and the o is reason why white people has the best skills and can do a better job is because of centuries of holding everyone else down.

If the Province is well run as the myth goes then they should welcome the challenge to put their detractors on the backfoot. They are loosing grip on power and might need FF+ to get a majority in Western Cape. Cape Independence which the DA and FF+ were supporting failed to take off…now they will push for more devolution.
