I prefer the original origin of the plane. It was transparent, inaudible. Plus it was super fast too: it was created by Amazon science, period. The Amazons originally were technologically superior.And the plane wasn't one of a kind. Also in the original story I believe Diana invented the purple ray (1940's).

That comic was when she had Superman use his super-vision help her aim at an atom and strike it with her magically super-sharp sword to see if it could split an atom. The writers of the comics at the time did not understand how nuclear fission worked and why such an explosion would happen and made the atom-splitting of a mere air molecule (in an atom) have an atomic explosion. Anyone who even took physics in high school saw it as comic book logic. Split even a helium atom, you probably get hydrogen and quarks in a micro-scale with no measurable results. Split a water molecule and you get it shattered down into hydrogen and a couple oxygen atoms before reacting to become more stable molecules. That sword atom-splitting to create an atomic explosion would be realistic if she hit just the right atom in an atomic warhead at the right time because it didn't have the explosive to start the isotope reaction into an atomic chain reaction.
