I’ve watched a few videos about the scout and you’re the only one that showed the issues with the plates feeding…it happened to me and I was really upset but tried your idea and now it works! Thanks so much for keeping that in your video! It makes a big difference to us that you always keep it real! 😊
TYSM, Lisa! You know how it is here. I did have someone leave a comment about having issues the other day...and I think this was probably what she was referring to. I am so glad I came across the same issue to help troubleshoot! I am so happy it helped you, too!!
Rec'd my lilac scout on Mon. I saw ur video about the oil. Sadly, I tried it and it didn't work for me. It's a hit and miss. I'm on the 5th day of using and my plates don't grab through once the rollers get to the dies the majority of the time. The handle just keeps turning but the plates don't always go through. Think I rec'd a defective one! Hoping SB will exchange it for me-else I'm out my money. It was a bday to myself since my bday was May 25th.
I was also having trouble with my scout machine. I emailed Spellbinders and they sent me your video link. I wiped the oil off, as you did in your video and it worked. I’m so happy, because I was going to send it back. I love it now! Thank you so very much!!! I also would like to know where you got your large magnetic mat at.
Super cute makes! I appreciate that you ran the Scout through the paces! I forget that I have steel rule dies I can use. My machine is on the way so I hope it works as well for me as it did for you! I’ll definitely keep the oil issue in mind! You have a new follower-I like your style!

😊 I received my Lilac shimmer Scout and also the Platinum 6 Lilac version this afternoon -- yay!! Your video is so helpful in getting the little Scout to feed properly. Mine was a bit reluctant at first, but after using your tip on the rollers and helping it feed the first couple of times now it works like a champ on anything I put in it -- another big yay!! 🥰I love love love mine and thank you again, Vianney, for the video and help!!
I got the 6 inch lilac shimmer today!!!! It was my birthday gift to me it only missed my birthday by 3 days lol I just love it! Now I can used my heartfelt flower molds instead of standing on them 😂

Thank you so much for the information, and being real. I rec'd my Scout yessterday and was so very disappointed when I couldn't get the platform to feed. After warching this I tried what you did and a couple tries later it worked-- and you are right, it does get easier,, yay!
Glad I could help! It sounds like they really greased these puppies up! LOL! I wonder if it's due to the heat right now, like the oil found its way out from having been exposed to the heat. That would make sense. Your comment really makes me feel great to have helped, TY!
Hello. I pre-ordered the lilac scout. Tried it last night. Plates do not always go through. I did try the idea u had but sadly, I'm still having issues. SB told me they need to be "seasoned",. I have placed my machine on a silicone mat and am standing to get the pressure and they still don't go through ea.and every time. The handle turns, but if u place ur hand on the rollers, there r times that the rollers do not move and grab. It's like something is stripped. I feel I'm out my money and didn't think there would be an issue. I threw out the outer shipping box and feel like I have a deffective one. Is anyone else having this issue?
I had problems with my Scout and plates not feeding through. Spellbinder’s customer service sent me your video. I tried removing any oil as you showed us, but I didn’t have any oil on my cloth. The way I finally got it to work was to put my die cut 1 to 1 1/2 inches from the top of the cutting plate, stand up, put my hand on the top after I got the plates started in straight, and turned the handle.
Oh, wow...well, that was nice of them to refer you over. Sorry my issue wasn't quite the same for you. Glad you got it working anyway. You should be able to max out your plates more and more, though. It's those initial run throughs that were really tight or slippery!

I have the Altenew mini machine, but I ordered the scout as well... maybe destashing the altenew machine
I received my set of machines yesterday. I have not tried either yet. I saw a woman on a video yesterday struggling real hard to use the Scout. Thank you for letting us know about the oil. I still wish it had suction since it is not very heavy.
That's too bad, hope she sees my video! (: I did have a woman say she had trouble and was hoping I had a video already...I had not yet recorded it until today. I'm glad I had the same issue so I was able to troubleshoot it for everyone. She's working like a champ now. TYSM!!

what is the tape holder you are using?
It's a multi tier tape holder from Daiso Japan. Not easy to find unless you have a store near you, but maybe they have something similar on Amazon.
