I'm a photographer. I've always said. It's the glass in front of the camera. The camera isn't as important. When I shot film I used Hasselblads. When auto focused came out in 35mm i found I was faster using it manually and learned to turn off the auto features. I made better choices than the camera to get the results I wanted. And when everything went digital. It separated the hack photographers from the good photographers. The hacks found out that the labs were making them look good for years.
I am a photographer too and I do differ. Yes, lenses are super important but also if you have a bad sensor, no matter how much light and how well capturing light/less aberrations the lenses has, the quality and dynamic range of the sensor will not increase.
@@jo_crespo11235 But, if you know lighting ... and tye technology of light and time. You don't need the sensor. For 20 years I can make most of those calculations in my head. I did also use a light meter, but, with experience I knew light values just through observation. Including fill light on a flash and lighting ratios.
The problem is that one needs a justifiable low-light situation to use the f/2.8 (e.g., fast moving objects in low lights). Otherwise, the high ISO performance of the modern cameras would really make such large aperture obsolete.
