It’s widely known that the dance steps were choreographed by Marlon and Mike. Mike himself even said Marlon was the dancer of the group. But because Mike was such a perfectionist, he was more and dedicated a lot of time and effort, his moves were more mechanical and flawless. And Marlons dance break was all part of the show. He even added it in his “BAD” Tour except that was MJ first solo tour so of course no Marlon. But this was funny asf tho 😂👌🏼
Michael was being modest saying Marlon was the dancer of the group. Give Marlon the credit for helping Michael with the group's choreography. Marlon was good, but from a very young age Michael was extraordinary as a dancer and singer and later choreographer.

When they left Motown Marlon became the main choreographer and he even helped MJ with his routine on Motown 25... MJ had natural talent, Marlon had to work for it... MJ was a star that's why every wants to say MJ was the best at everything, but he and the rest of the group would tell how it was.
