  • I custom built this modern style wooden doll house with Walnut edging for my daughter's 2nd birthday. It was a fun DIY build and a welcome break from continuous workshop improvements that I have undertaken in my tiny wood workshop! I have provided detailed instructions in this diy video if you want to build one yourself! This dimensions can be changed to fit larger American girl or Barbie dolls or smaller Calico critters style set. I ordered a small doll house furniture set from Amazon in Calico critters style! Enjoy and share your thoughts on this! If you have any questions or need help with your build let me know!

It is cozy, detailed and elaborate woodworking. This video is also interesting and fun.

Thank you. I have a lot of grandchildren. I'm going to be 75 this coming March and finding it easier to build for a little boy than a girl.
I don't have the workshop that you have. It is really nice! So I use what I have to do my work. I like your humbleness. It is always good to see people on here like yourself. Do you know what makes old wood brand new? Paint. I find people throwing away old wood, and I pick it up and make things out of it.
I am an old cowboy from south florida.
But I live in oregon today. I can build cow pins-pole barns. And a lot of fans.
You do a beautiful work. Thank you again.

Love how you're so real about the sanding!!! For real. It's the worst. But can not be shortcutted.

It’s the worst for me as well, lol! I still go through all the grits as I want the projects to take finish really well. This is the part that’s actually visible unlike most joinery!

Really interested in building one, any way to cut the windows without a jigsaw?

Do you have a wood hack saw or a Japanese saw? The are useful if you don’t have a jig saw and are much clearer than a jig saw.

Interesting with children I wouldn't use any pin nails as the glue is by far strong enough once it's cured

That’s true. I used pin nails mainly to act as clamps.
