Nice! I'm thinking about "upgrading" to the Vaquero soon.

I sold the bike and forgot the size but I thought they were around 18L each bag.

Hi. I have a question. What size of bolts on 6:00 min? M6? Cause in factory fulfilment that chrome covers fixed bolt M6.

Did you use the spacers? I bought similar bags, same brand, and I got them installed, but they kept shearing the bolts for some reason. Ended up abandoning the project and when I decided to get them out of storage, there was a leak and they were ruined. Any suggestions on keeping the bolts from shearing when I reorder them?

I used the smaller spacers that were provided and grade 8 bolts from a hardware store... but only after the bolts that came with the bags snapped off :(

I bought and installed the shock cutout type bags. "Kawasaki 1600 Mean Streak Viking Lamellar Large Spear Shock Cutout Hard Saddlebags"

I followed these instructions and the the first ride out 8o miles 2 bolts literally sheered off and my bags had to be strapped to the bike. Viking says I used the wrong mounting location and bolts but that was all that was in the kit. I mounted them where you did. I have done some research and this seems to eb a problem others have had with the mount kits. Have you had any issues.? Did you use the bolts that came with the bags? Which bolts did you use. Did you use the the fender attachment location or the smaller holes for the chrome flashing attachment

I also found this out the hard way, I'm sorry you did as well! I had to use Grade 8 bolts I believe? Those seemed to have worked better and never broke until I sold the bike. The hardware that they supply is junk and/or it doesn't fit with the chrome side covers. I now have a Victory Cross Country.

Victory nice bike. I could not get the chrome covers to fit with the brackets and Viking told me to use the same connection that holds on the rear fender. I don't think they know how their bags are supposed to attach. Ill get some high grade bolts from the hardware store and try one more time. Thanks for the tips
