Great vid. I visited once in the early 90s. The place was packed with props before the place was burned down. I still remember a large stack of original British Army 'Tommy' helmets from WW2 Before this fort was built, the heights on which it stands were used as an Anglo-Maltese artillery position to shell Fort Ricasoli, which was held by the French after Napoleon's invasion and the subsequent uprising during the 1798-1800 period.
I was born in Rinella street Kalkara in 76 years ago and I remember the Fort St Rocco still functioning in the 1960's there were 6" guns and also a portable radar station installed at the back of the fort!!
Well done Pierre and your team. It's thanks to people like you that places of Malta's Military History come to the fore. I have known of the Saint Rocco Battery in Kalkara from my early day here in Malta in the early sixties while serving as a member of the British Garrison. But thanks to you, I have now seen inside the fortifications of this battery for the first time.

Come on guys, be kind to yourselves. Many explorers say 'built by the British' (I didn't hear you say. It though ) These relics were built FOR the British on the sweat off the backs of low paid Maltese men. All weathers, scortching sun , cold February winter winds and rain, they carried on working. Your forefathers take the credit for these buildings. All the British did was stand over a blueprint. Well done and God Bless💗
Why not clean the place up and turn it into a park? Why are we losing so much of our history? There are so many people interested in such places, as they are they are dangerous for people who do not know what they are doing.
From what I found out this place is privetly owned , so not sure if this is possible but totally agree. Hopefully people seeing videos like this would know before hand what it involves and know what they are getting into . Thanjs

Try and find out who are/is the owner/s I am sure it is not making them any money as it is. I have plenty of time and many people that can help it is such a shame if we do not do anything about it.
