- Oh my goodness, hey guys! a couple days ago I made the big move from Cali to Harvard University, which was a once in a lifetime experience. I am excited to document my journey to look back on the past and hopefully serve as an outlet for you all. I plan to upload constantly so please let me know what you would like to see from me, and I will make that happen.

I would honestly move all the beds into the main living area to have more room and then the desks into the smaller rooms, don’t know if this is allowed or not!

@@Computrathey expect you to pay a very high price to share a dorm room, because that's the "Harvard experience". I am a graduate student at Harvard.
Some of these dorms were built in the 1700’s. That’s why they have fireplaces and small rooms.
Oooph, I read you comment before seeing the room and was like ‘surely it isn’t that bad’. Then I saw it 😳😮. At least have bunk beds to try create some floor space! I’ve had single rooms at university bigger than that! Though I went to university in Liverpool, UK, which is relatively affordable on the housing front.

would have been better if you moved the beds into the common room! you are always allowed to switch around the furniture :) like my sophomore year of college, i bought out a dorm meant for 2, so it still had 2 twin beds in it. i put them together and turned it into a king (amazon has bed converter kits). but anyway, just know for future reference to utilize your space as best you can!

omg finally a move in video with a dorm my first year size 😭 I was in a suite with five other people and the other two doubles were pretty sizeable and me and my roommate were shoved into a room that used to be a single lmao

I just toured Harvard yesterday, you were one of the lucky underclassmen to get the shaking dorm, I believe; because it is so close to the underground railway, when the train passes, the building shakes.
Fun fact: the dining hall looks just like the hogwarts one because they were modeled after the same building in the UK. It is an attachment of the memorial building which was built to honor all the students who died in the Civil War
Also, did you cross the Haunted Gate (Johnston Gate); the myth is that you can only cross it twice, on your first day at Harvard, and when you graduate, or else you'll fail all of your exams.
Last thing lol: There's this really good cafe called JP Licks that served 100/100 London Fog tea
I lived in an apartment (efficiency) near a rail line. The building shook. I get this.
Your bedroom of your dorm room is abnormal and extremely too small ! And this is what they give you at Harvard? You give the impression that the fan will constantly blow in your face when you are sitting at your desk and studying. I'm not sure, but I think your dorm room is not worth living at. Try finding a better place to live while going to Harvard. You also need to make a complaint to Harvard concerning your dorm room.

they actually are normally bunked, but neither of us wanted to be the top bunk 😭

I am Italian but I really like English so I would like to do this university. I have some questions: what is this "test" you have to do to enter? Once you enter, do you sleep there?
okay so when you apply for college you have to write like an essay on a topic they give you or something along those lines and as for the second question it depends if you live in the town where your school is you can stay at your house but if not they have freshman(1st year) stay in the dorms and every year after that can either get an apartment or stay in dorms
they also look over your past grades from highschool or i believe you guys call it secondary you also can get recommendations from past teachers and employers

@@danhaltamimi7315 unfortunately yes but as of right now due to covid they have stopped taking scores and putting it towards your admission decision but that might be changed permanently! let me know if you have any more questions
@@danhaltamimi7315 also the SAT and the ACT are tests you have to take and the score you get can be sent to colleges and yes grades are important but for me i did really bad my freshman year and early sophomore year due to covid and i just didn’t care so really take your time and don’t let your grades define you but definitely try and pay attention cause your grades and test scores can get you good grants and scholarships
