John Barrowman has been a very successful West End leading man for many years, and even if he isnt someone you particularly care for you have to at least respect that there is a reason for that. One of those reasons is that he has an amazing ability to act. In Id do anything the other judges actually comments on how John managed to bring the acting they wanted out of one of the girls. So even if you dont like him show some respect for his accomplishments.
Bear in mind that a) this is only an excerpt of a much longer session that they had and b) they were learning to act for theatre which is different to acting on TV and in films - theatre work requires more exaggarated actions and speech/singing than you'd need for TV or films.
He is not over glorified! His voice is absolutely amazing, and several of the musical songs he has performed has been the best version of that song I have ever heard. As far as acting goes you may not like his style, but even so you should show more respect than to bring forth such ignorant claims. Yes he is absolutely drop dead gorgeous, but so are a lot of men who never makes it. If that was all there was he wouldnt be where he is today. If you dont like dont watch - be respectful about it.
What's so great about him though, is that he giggles and messes around offstage, but when it comes to a performance, he's really confident and puts in a lot of emotion, which you can see at the end of this clip. He's great!

It would be bad acting anyway, for movie and theatre. I am teaching acting AND meditation. The first thing for an actor would be: Relax, calm down, visualize the situation clearly, then let the emotions come by themselves, don't "produce" them, don't be an actor, just be a human being.
