Do not complain to this guy, if it's not coming back , you all are making a mistake in the folds especially in the adjusting part. Because it came back to me like a charm
For most boomerang paper airplane, it depends on the model you made. For instance, I folded Mr. John Collins' Boomerang 1 and tilted the model to the left or right to make comeback with me. If did not work, I crimped the wing just a little bit.
Hi, John. Love your stuff! Followed your lead and purchased a bone paper folding tool. One thing I've noticed: I've been looking for multicolored 20 lb paper (I know in this vid you're using 24 lb) so I picked up a ream of plain ol' white 20 lb at my local office supply store.
Mr. Collins....The "Boomerang II" is indeed an intriguing model design that works very well! Have enjoyed perfecting folds and " control surface " tweaking for the challenging / desirable out & back gliding flight profile! Scaled down the 8.5 x 11 paper size by 25% ( Same dimension ratio )....Fold placements same except for final tail wing creases...preliminary experimenting... initial " prototype " works very well too!! Addictive FUN!! How small can it " go "!!? Thank you Mr. Collins for sharing your experiences w / paper aircraft design aerodynamics!!
Worked well with a DIN ISO A4 sheet of printer paper, a wee bit of adjustment on rudder to make it fly straight and it flipped and came right back. Did it in the large steering gear room of the ship I'm on.
1:44 Your comment here bothers me the most. I did the math for this and it does not seem to be 19mm but actually 27mm. Here's my math calculation: American-sized paper: 8.5 inches by 11 inches = 21.59cm by 27.94cm In which if you divide it. 27.94/21.59cm you get the ratio of 1.294 A4 sized piece of paper: ~8.25inch by ~11.75 inch = 20.955cm by 29.845cm And like you said to remove the longest section by 19mm the numbers would now be 20.955cm by 27.945cm and if you divide them you get the ratio of 27.945/20.955=1.33 being nowhere near. the 1.294. But if you multiply 1.294 by 20.955cm you would get around 27.11cm. And then taking away 29.845cm - 27.11cm would equal 2.72cm which should be the longest length that you should cut off. Please correct me if I'm wrong but this is how I understood it to get the correct ratio. If you are using the exact size of A4 paper without the rounding up that I did initially the cut-off for the exact ratio for American size paper would be 25mm longest length that should be cut off which is not too far off from my initial calculation. Lol.
Your math is correct. 19mm is what you would remove from the side of the US letter paper to match A4 proportions, so yes, I misspoke. I don’t think that’s catastrophic for the folding sequence, so I probably won’t replace the video right away.
Hello Mr. Collins, I'm trying to build the 'Boomerang II' but I just happen to make it circle back, like I use to with 'Boomerang I'. I can't make it stall, flip, and come back upside down. I'm using regular A4 writing paper sheets, does that have any impact on the outcome? Do i need to use any other type of paper? Is there anything I should pay specific attention to in order to get it right? I'm following the instructions to a T but I don't seem to be able to replicate it. I'm 10 years old, I'm from Spain and a big fan of yours. Thank you in advance for your time and reply. 🙂
@@nIkI_nazarov When you actually do the math, it's 25.75. I say 27mm instead of 26 because most people can't cut that straight. One mm won't be the difference between success and failure anyway. Happy folding.
@@ThePaperAirplaneGuy @kolyanazarov8097 It depends, because for an European sheet of paper, the correct ratio (for a 8.5 x 11 inches sheet) for a 21 cm large sheet of paper is around 27.1764 cm. Perhaps kolyanazarov see ratios too; I use this ratio all the time for your wonderful planes(my favourite is the Boomerang I)

So, im sure i made the right folds, sharp middle crease and the right adjustments but somehow, it just glides and then tragically crashes upon the ground. I kinda figured it out since it works when i do a fast movement to launch but it doesn't fly farther than a meter before it comes back. Can someone help?

True. Sometimes, I encountered that model is not coming back to me, but I adjusted to make this model come back to me.

i haven't seen anyone fold with such accuracy
Not to be rude but he's been working with paper airplanes for a long time
If you want to see someone fold with amazing accuracy that folds more than just planes, search up Jeremy Shafer

oooooooooo ive never seen plane fly like that before
Amazing idea. It works. Thanks for sharing!😍😍
Can u make like a paper airplane tutorial that can make the airplane go around

Trim 27mm off the bottom of the A4 paper (making it shorter) before you start folding.

Hi 3rd time watching
You are making simple things very complex
if you think its slow just watch at 2x

So hard to adjust just right, but magical when it comes back
I am flying in a cushioned white room saying "positive dihedral, positive dihedral" over and over 🤣
good job !,!!!
You went to my school
he is not a scientist or an engineer he is just a grown up kid
But i like the suzzane airplane
Me too
IT WORKS!!!
yes, the plane comes back to me but like as if it is boomerang 1. it doesn't get upside down instead it just turns left and comes back
my 6yr old does it , i don't 😅😅 i guess these aren't for me
Ur so cool
I dont have a A4 paper
Sir I don't know what but it is doing double flip
Lol
It sometimes turns
wow
Very cool but impossible to fold
i did this and the only thing that came back to me is the belief that i did something wrong
A MAN NOT A CLICKBAIT :DDD
Yes sir
Idk if it works 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 we’ll test it 😂😂😂😂 😂
😅
I don’t know what you doing
yeah typing nonsense
It’s ok, some of these things are more elevated levels of Origami

you dont need to wach this video, you just neet to make your self paper airplane have and it could have a chance to be boomerang

It's real i made it.
Fuck this plane my shit was CATTYWHOMPOS.
