I moved to America when i was 12 years old from the philippines, i am now 53 years old and 2 more years to retire. Once i retire i am moving back to the Philippines, going to sell my house here in the states and buy a new one in the Philippines. I miss the closeness and the happy go lucky feeling and friendliness of the Philippines, i mean don't get me wrong America gave me a lot of success but its work work hustle and bustle. There is no time for fun that much and if you want to have fun you have to spend money, its very materialistic world here. That is why when i go back home to retire im going to buy a 3 bedroom house in the province and live a slow and easy life, because i am tired of the fast life, i need to stop and smell the roses! Miss ko na ang pinas life!

Retired americans with pension will really enjoy life in philippines? Because in the states they’ll be homeless, no woman will ever want them unlike in philippines?

I live in one of the richest nation in Western Europe for 40 years, but because institutional racism is so strong, there is no chance for any migrant to make a career. I have been thinking of going back home to the Philippines. A place where I could be happy and experience racism no more.

I've been in the US for more than 26 yrs and it's going downhill. The competition and the lack of respect toward other common people due to political reasons are outstanding. It's sad that some people lost respect for each other. In the Philippines, people are friendly and very helpful.
In the US, I've always felt all by myself. I have to do everything all by myself. It's tough to get a little help or ask for a small favor from a friend or a family member.
It's different in the Philippines. That's why it's overpopulated there because so many people want to stay in the Philippines.

Your story was really very inspiring especially to some couples who easily got frustrated and discouraged on their difficult journey of being together which mostly resulted to an unwanted separation. Thank you for sharing your marriage life journey to us that it may inspire upon learning your experience and give us good hope in the future. When I moved here in US i felt like i down graded my life in terms of happiness. Everything here looks nice but i feel empty. Your eyes can feast with beauty but your heart feels empty. Happiness is not all about having good career, a nice house, traveling around the world etc. Its all about feeling at home and eating 3 times a day and being around with people you love... guess what..im still here and hoping to retire early in the Philippines.

If you still are a single man and has family wealth, stay in there! But if you have a family your gusto is no longer important (unless you are selfish?)
We spent thousands of dollars everytime we visit, but I found being stupid to spend so much only to experience again the reason why I moved out? It is not true its more fun in the philippines, its a LIE !
When We were there 2 weeks only Im counting days to leave? Kasi nakakainis ang lahat brown out, init, traffic, inggay, polution, langaw, daming mayayabang na tao etbp. Gone are the days of good peoples, everyone seems after your pocket? Sa airport palang yun cart free nga pero pipilitin ka later magbayad at mag tip (mga corrupt)!

It’s difficult for foreigners to find jobs here. Even harder if you plan to live in province. So please plan well. We live here on our retirement pension. We came after working for 43 years in the USA.. the cost of living here is way cheaper than USA. So glad we worked to have money first before coming here. I was there too, in NJ back and forth to the Philippones. I got my Permanent Residence in the US (in Dec. 2011) because of my dad (WW2 Vet.) who became a US Citizen in 2002. First job there in NJ was a mechanic/service receptionist in Meineke then I was able to get a job in NJ Transit but after a year I got burn-out, I went back to the Philippines. In 2013, I went back to NJ land a 4-month part time job in Newark Airport as a bus operator. After that, I went back to the Philippines because my dad was sick and he died in 2015. I never return to the US since then. Now, I have a construction business, I do part time real etate and continued my parent's commercial stalls rental business. For 5 years now I been staying and enjoying life here in the Philippines. By the way, I just bought a brand new Ford Ranger Raptor and I love driving it everyday😊. A gift for myself and a tool for my everyday chores. Hoping and praying for the best to all the brave people out there looking for success and happinessin life. God bless us all. Salute!
