Sylvanos is still gonna be my boy, but I've gotta say, this is by FAR the best-animated character in Rivals and honestly some of the most impressive pixel work I've ever seen. So much intricate detail and it's moving SO smooth!
What surprises me the most about all these new characters is how diverse the concepts are given the 4 element limit Fire Smoke Plasma Water Ice Poison Earth Vines (?) Weeds (?) Flight Storms Mechanical flight
I still come back to this video even to this day. I wish RoA had a more deep, expanded lore you could find and explore in game. Honestly a World of Light style adventure would be awesome DLC for RoA and would pull me back in. This reveal video really got me hype. Especially the way it cuts from the intro anamatic into the gameplay. "I'm going to destroy it!" really sets up Elliana's character and from the lore we get that it's justified. The editing and SFX of the video allows you to mentally hear the characters and their voices without them uttering a word. Music choices phenomenal like always. The little easter eggs like the 'loading' symbol and the switch-swap of character roles between Ayala and Elliana, "somebody touch-a my spaghett" as well as the follow up of adding in Julesvale in-game. It sets up for more in a way - and although it's clear that the development of characters is (allegedly) finished, we don't get to see Ayala trying to stop Elliana - it could be a follow up for Ayala participating in RoA. I'd think at least it'd be cool if there was a more in-game reference to Ayala and Elliana's bond, like in her taunt or something, or idle animation she could be thinking of Ayala or something. Just came here to gush and sing praise. I love this game a bunch, it's just a bit too uhhh, serious for me to return and play with. It's cool as heck, fluid as hell, and I love the PM inspiration. But it's not got that 'fun factor' you can just find playing Smash. There's no items, and no 2v2's, FFAs or Aether stages online. It's a shame, really. Looking forward to more Fornace productions, though.

I really love this just because some snakes actually jump from trees and glide long distances to being creative and adding this concept of a gliding snake who wants to fly is really cool, toppled onto the fact you guys created a machine-ist type character is really cool. Only thing I'd wish they did was give her a couple more snake moves like maybe her grab could been her reaching out and wrapping around the character and then slinging them
I still don't get what makes Elliana a villain. Her actions are 100% justified. About the only slightly "evil" thing she did was misleading her partner, but even that is debatable. It's been a few months... can someone explain what makes this person a villain?
Simply put, her goal is taking out the Rival's equivalent of the Air Force. More than that, even though the higher ups are clearly racist jerks that deserve snake justice (A Flying Squirrel gets in [that can only glide not fly] but a super smart snake can't?) not all of the armada deserves to die because of its leaders. It's like going to your old job and killing everyone inside because your boss was a dick.
In this context it makes he a disenfranchised neutral party at worst. I mean, this IS a fighting game. Of course everyone is gonna go after everyone. Her motivation is to take down the Armada as a whole because its leadership is corrupt. Not an evil goal in and of itself.
There are ways of reforming corrupt organizations without destroying them. Here's hoping her rabbit friend can help her out on that front while Elliana goes on her justified rampage. This entire thing makes me want fully customized story modes for each character, because Elliana's storyline is very interesting.
I mean, destroying the air armada doesn't necessary mean killing literally everyone in it, just, you know, dismantling the organisation itself somehow.
This! Now this is a character that appeals to me! Mechas are always some of my favorite chars ik a Fighting game, and I love snakes, this character is everything I've ever wanted, Including a vertical grab! Perfection! But... I don't know why, but I feel like this Snake, should have been a Tsuchinoko Snake instead of a regular one, since it's said that Tsuchinokos jump really High, as if They were Trying to fly, but still, it's not even a nitpick

The fact that a snake pilots a mech like that boggles me in the first place, but then again, I only play for the game.
I did some research and she's most likely an Eyelash Viper. Notice the singular color and little ridges above the eyes.
