    I also have a right club foot. The shorter leg, smaller calf, and limited mobility..I used to think it was a big hindrance in my life and golf game but now knowing he has it and is one of the best golfers in the world, really inspires me. Thank you, Jon!

    His swing is just so simple. There isn't a lot of room to make mistakes because he leaves his hands infront of his body better than anyone. I truly believe he has the model golf swing for the modern golfer. He will never have any back pain or any issues because of how simple his rotation moves are.

      I agree if you notice he rarely gets in much trouble off the tee. He basically sets the club and fires...in my mind i try to do the same thing and only think about once I set the club I just turn my hips into the ball. Not alot of room for error theres a reason he is so dominant.

    I love the people who think Jon isn't flexible because he's not some thin, lean guy. Have you seen his rotatiom speed?! Dudes way more flexible than he looks, which is shown in this video.
    Fires his hips and torso with insane vigor. And he transitions from back to downswing so quick that he loads the shaft up as much as anyone in the game. Then unloads all of that at impact for insane speed with a short swing.

    He's also one of very few top players with a right eye dominance while beeing right handed. Like me. A long, wide backswing isn't possible without loosing sight with the right eye. So he's a hitter instead a swinger (Tony Finau is another one)

    I don't understand how his clubbed right foot affects his back swing. The right foot remains stable during the back swing and it only moves after impact. He doesn't seem to have a problem with a full follow through. The reality is that the shorter the swing the more likely to hit the sweet spot of the club face. The other thing about Rahm's drives are that they are not measured fades. His "fades" are more like vicious slices. Perhaps that is why when his tee shot with the driver stays straight he comes out with what commentators describe as "inappropriate language".

    Let's face it, Jon Rahm can afford the luxury of having a short swing, and still hits the ball pretty far because he weights around 230-240 lbs. A guy weighting around 170-180 lbs can not do it in most of the cases.

    • @scottcollins6605
      @scottcollins6605 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I’ve always wondered about what is the mass component when it comes to force being applied in the golf swing. It is obviously more than the mass of the club. It is the mass of various body parts which I’m sure also varies with your timing. That is why a hacker sometimes purrs a shot 30 yards further than normal. His timing on that shot brought more mass to the hit. Thinner people definitely need to bring more speed to the equation or better timing.
