Got2B is considered the best hairspray for wigs because unlike most hairsprays, it's glue based, so it works way better on synthetic fibers because it's essentially just a mist of glue, lol
You are much stronger than I when it comes to officially retiring a cosplay or wip and using the materials for something else!! I also didn't know that about the dye pot. I never considered that once you use the pot for dying something, you should never use it for food! The motion graphics part around 7:37 was SO COOL!!! Your Ida wig turned out SO GOOD omg!! I can't wait to see this cosplay come together!! The witchy vibes will be so neat!!
I accidentally watched this video trying to figure out how to style a wig for my Luz cosplay, not realizing the example here was an Eda wig. What a happy little coincidence.
i know it's been almost a year but i hope in the future we can see the entire Eda process, your cosplay videos are so soothing and informative, very bingeable and not at all overstimulating, thank you Sarah!
The breakdown, the detailed explaination, the research that clearly went into this and the references linked... my dude. What a resource! I love that you've gone above and beyond a lot of the standard "how to spike wigs" videos - I've played around with wig-making enough that a lot of the tease and hairspray basics aren't new info, but you've presented those topics with extra anecdotes that I'd never heard of before, and kept the video so well-paced that I can definitely see it being helpful for folks getting into the craft. (Also just, like, your lighting and audio setup? Can for sure tell that's something you prioritize, and it pays off!) Fantastic job!
I am really excited to be coming back into cosplay again and seeing this video makes me so pumped. GOD i remember like 10 years ago even it was so hard to figure it all out. The way you effortlessly taught everyone basic and advanced wig styling techniques was amazing! Also the ending was so serene.
i am so with you on that!! i started cosplaying in 2014, stopped around 2016 and i am gettinv back into it now and the resources were really nothing like they are today
me and my mom love cosplaying together. shes a hairstylist so she works on wigs and make up while i wourk on costume and props, this video helped us both SO MUCH with making our wigs look more like animation styled instead of crunchy realistic style wigs!
I really like your way of doing things, seeing you style stuff it's still a little stressful but your methods seem done in a realistic I can do this at home too way. No flashy work arounds just showing the honest process. It's my cosplay dream to say "I styled or made every piece of this cosplay" I don't care what it is,.....I just want it to be something I end up loving.
I'm in the (long, hard) process of styling my aether wig (last time I tried styling a wig i cut too much and then another i teased too little and yeah. those are retired now.) this was SO incredibly helpful for spiking, because as you may know with genshin impact cosplays, they are incredibly detailed, and I want to make this aether one con-worthy for one in like april lol so THANK YOUUU :D (also yes got2b is wonderful for wigs omg)
Very late to the party, but I’m - beginning cosplayer who’s currently doing an Eda cosplay for both Halloween and Comic Con, and the main driver for it was this video, thank you so much for the tutorial :)
Okay so you've been my favorite youtube for a MINUTE and TOH is my absolute favorite show and im just now seeing this video of your process of my favorite character's wig??? Thats insane???? /pos
I have been following you for a while and I'm quite surprised i have not come across this video on your channel. I am superrr late to this video lol but if you ever see this comment, I am also into TOH and I'm currently struggling to make a Reine Whispers wig, and I haven't really found any good tutorials to follow, so, if you can, could you please demonstrate how to make a short wig?
Does anyone know hot to get rid of flyaways on a wig? I got a black/longer wig and its looking horrible with how much flyaways there are... idk what to do
GOD, this is all fantastic!! i’ve followed this same vague~ sorta method forever, and it always turns out really good. i was wondering- where,, did you get the lace square? i don’t want to invest in an actual full lace front, but i’m working on a wig for young eda, and i’ve got a base i can use pretty well- it just doesn’t have the widow’s peak.
hello! I know this video is a little old but where did you buy the free lace front? I have been searching for a cosplay but all I find are of human hair around 60+ in price and I dont want to use that D:
This is my first time ever cosplaying so I'm just wondering if I can use hair gel/ any normal hair spray for the wig styling? The one everyone has been recommending (Got2Be Freeze Spray) is expensive in my country.
Im sorry to hear that the g2b is expensive in your country! Someone commented on this video a while back letting me know that the reason why g2b works so well for wigs is that its glue based. You can use regular hair spray as well, but if you can find a glue based hair spray in your country im sure it would work well too. I also experimented with making a nontoxic spray glue in my miku wig video, so that might be helpful as well
On time, Im really bad at gauging time and this was a few months ago so i'm not super sure sorry! Maybe like 2 weeks? But for money, I had those pieces already but the nigel is a $40 wig, and the letigre isn't available anymore so Im not entirely sure but ill give a rough guess that it was $40 too. And I know I got that lace square on sale so I think it was like $10, they don't sell that anymore either unfortunately. I hope thats helpful!

What is even glue haha, I mean it washes out still.
@@helenva382 from my difficults my got2B REFUES to come out after 1 wash
The only problem I have with it is it flakes EVERYWHERE 😅
@@PuppetOnStrings666 If you use a lot of it, the trick is to do a light mist just enough to hold it, but not enough it gets crusty, lol
question- is got2B okay for real hair?
I've always felt like TH-cam cosplay wig tutorials were too vague but this one was super helpful! Thank you for making it!
Glad it was helpful! Yeah I get that, I've had trouble understanding exactly how to do things from a tutorial too, so I try to be really detailed.
I have thick coarse hair and I'm in the got subculture and not even goth mom could help me, but this is so helpful
😮
😮😅😅😂😅😮😮n😂
this is one of the best descriptions of teasing a wig i’ve ever seen thank you so much for all the editing and sharing your knowledge!

Me too - particularly with TOH now officially done
It's fun to see how many techniques overlap between wig styling and doll hair styling. Because it's the same fibres! How fun!
I found my Steamer at a Goodwill and it was almost new. It was one of the best purchases ever

This looks amazing! I can't wait to see the final outfit. This video was so entertaining and well made, keep working hard
This tutorial is EVERYTHING! Your descriptions are amazing and this gave me so much guidance for the eda wig I wanna make. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome! I'm so happy it was helpful!
Had no idea how to style my cosplay wigs for so long until this video! This was so helpful for those fluffy spikes in the hair, thanks so much!
ahhh can't wait for more eda content ! so far it looks amazing !!!
Thank you! Im super excited to make her!!
So I mainly do drag, but I'm taking a lot of inspiration from cosplayers like yourself - seeing you reference Jaymes Mansfield proper makes my day 😍😍

This was such a professional and easy video to understand, can’t believe this doesn’t have more views.
PLEASE keep making vids, this helped so much. I'm making Harpy Eda as we speak
This is absolutely amazing! Just the tutorial I needed 😍
this is the best wig video ive watched and the graphics are out of this world
I love how the "teased mess" still canonically looked like eda XD

Thanks for this detailed, clear tutorial! I'm able to take what applies to my wig even though it's a totally different style
Great tips! I can't wait for the rest of Eda! :)
thank you so much for this tutorial! i'm making eda for a con next month and will definitely be using your advice :D
Wow amazing tutorial! Thank you for the animations to help us understand better
Your video is AMAZING!!! You explain so much! I really really like it! Thanks a lot I've learned SO MUCH! 🤩🤩🤩🙏
This showed me that I was teasing wrong. Thank you for calling me out 😂😂😂. I feel like styling like half my wigs now.
EDA MY GIIIIIIIIIRL I LOOOOOVE THIS
SUCH FLUFF
Thank you so much Sarah, it’s really very-very helpful!❤
What do you use for your wig stand? I’m having trouble finding good ones..
Very useful! Thank you!
I just love how at the begining you said no more cardboard and no more hotglue, cause i can relate, i was able to save the wig so its fine
Thank you so much for all of your content!!!
Thank YOU so much for watching!
TYSM FOR THIS TUTORIAL, I'm going to try to go the new Garfield x Miku youtooz but I had no clue on how to do the wig 😭

I wish I had found this tutorial before my first attempt 😅
An amazing Video like always and have a wonderfull day ❤️
Thanks so much! You have a wonderful day too!
**still waiting for the rest of the Eda cosplay**
Amazing ❤❤❤❤❤
Damn. Now my question is how do you pack this kind of wig for travel?
I'M DOING A RAINE COSPLAY AND THIS IS MY FIRST TIME USING A WIG >:3
I am watching this to help with my hunter from Toh
when you say you put the tigre under the jareth, how did you attach those wigs together?
Where can I get s wig stand that flips like THAT 😳 amazing video!
I have no patience to style my real hair, I see this and get exhausted just by watching TTTTT
I know this is like....10 months later and you've probably already realized this but..... Arda does still sell Le Tigre!! She's still there! 🖤🖤
Does anyone know hot to get rid of flyaways on a wig? I got a black/longer wig and its looking horrible with how much flyaways there are... idk what to do
Where did you got your steamer? And what is the steamer brand called?
she cosplayed as Edaaa 🥺🥺

It was from Arda, but it looks like they discontinued the lace squares 😞
@@SarahSpaceman damn,,, thank you anyway!!
by the way, where did you get your lace square from? i'd love to buy one as well
It was from Arda, but they don’t sell them anymore unfortunately 😞
that's a great video
Does anyone have any tips for avoiding white flakes coming off of the wig when using G2B after its dried?

Are lace squares known by any other names? I'm trying to find some online but I get all the wrong results
That’s what Arda wigs called them but unfortunately they discontinued making them ☹️
really informative video! would you mind sharing how you made the graphics and what video software are you using for edditing? thank you :)
Thank you! And I use Adobe after effects for motion graphics, premier pro for editing, and illustrator to make the assets for the graphics 😊
I’m always scared to dye a wig because I don’t want to melt the fibers lol
Have you seen Adam Savage's interview with Cowbutt Crunchies?
Hi Mona
Cool!
I’ve seen a few wig styling videos but this was by far the most informative! I’m so glad I stumbled upon it, I learned a lot, amazing work!! (^。^)
Professional hair stylist here, I cut my human hair extensions literally the same way. lol no judgement here
I feel so validated! Haha
Is it necessary to tease a wig? Can I choose not to tease wigs?
i am nowhere near a proffesional cosplayer i am quite literally a child who likes playing dress up
literally
i am awful at syling wigs
and i am broke.
so yk
tips are cool tho ty sarah
Same and also my parents don't support me cosplaying that much and say it's waste of money..
