Democrats didn't like it so they took him through the courts and did everything they could to stop or delay it. Immigration reform was a key policy issue and Democrats sat there insulting him over separating kids from parents then they turned around and did the same thing with the same cages.

What I'd say the committee demonstrates is that some committees need to be lead by neutral figures and empowered in a way that they aren't subject to partisan BS. It seems like oversight should be handled in a way that it isn't used for point scoring, but that can be said for so much of the justice system too

Ive been watching Rep Porter since she first began. She knows what and why shes doing it. Smart, savy and most of all is representative of all overworked, under paid, single parent, trying to institute changes so tomorrows generations will not stand in our shoes.
