  • Man made system that nature adopted, koi, minnows, frogs, dragon flies , and humming birds, and so many others a backyard with grass can't compare.

    2nd comment. This video includes my three favorite things. Pond, fish, and pitcher plants.

    Wow, this is a lot of hard work. Very impressive 👏 I put a small pond in during when covid first started. It's nothing like yours.❤

      THANK YOU , I have always got a little carried away with my fish even when it was a fish tank i always strived to create a eco system. My planted aquarium yearsssssss ago was pretty crazy i had a 2 foot waterfall into the top of a 90 gallon corner tank that had bird preproducing in the same area above the open planted fish tank. Contemplating another addition but i think i may be done.

    We’re just getting started & have a feeling that your channel will be a continual resource. Thanks for sharing your inspired masterpiece. Please keep posting. Question? What do you do in winter? Do you pull the pumps? 🌿

    • @gbbudd7772
      @gbbudd7772  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pond ran all but two weeks last year as we had a mild winter here in the north east. I DO PULL the pump and I place it in a trash bag to keep the gaskets from drying out. I have a rather in depth post i made regarding the areas i built , why, and how the nuts and bolts are the second half of the post. www.gardenpondforum.com/showcase/honored-and-proud-to-have-been-chosen-aquascapes-diy-pond-of-the-year-for-2023-12-000-gallon-koi-pond-full-build.141/

    How deep water in area … perhaps 4-5’? ….for the fish to survive very cold Canadian winter???

    • @gbbudd7772
      @gbbudd7772  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'M JUST UNDER 6 4:27 FEET DEEP. you only need to be a bit deeper than the ice gets thick. I recomend no less than three for a ungrounded pond. You only need to keep an area at the surface from freezing.

      The pond is 6 years old I never stop tinkering. But the main story was mine was 6 years working on it when i came home from working out of town and home only one weekend a month so add it up 8 months a year work time so 16 days a year x 6 years = 96 days add in the mrs and what she felt was priority on my trips home and i got this built in about 2 months so yea i tried to give whomba some inspiration as i knew what he took on. And he too has the Mrs and a little one to DEMAND HIS TIME
