    I love your setup! Did you know humming birds have an amazing memory? They will migrate every year and come back, they remember plants, animals and humans! So hopefully you see the humming birds for years to come.. Gotta love the little guys.

    This is the set up idea I had in mind, but couldn't think of the layout with the plants. Thanks for showing me the way! It's perfect.

    Had to sign in and comment--for a self-build, this is spectacular! And I'd go so far as to say that even at a professional level this is good...sadly, some "professionals" don't even produce this level of work. Great system, really nice aesthetic too. Well done!

    Beautiful pond setup and layout. This is the pond I'd want in my backyard. Bog Garden Filter, Waterfalls from every direction, and a creek with a bridge that all empties into the main pond.

    I love how you designed your pond. You have the nicest looking bog that I have seen. Most bogs are not incorporated very well, yet yours looks like just another path for the water to flow. Once again, an extremely well thought out design. 🌸

    Absolutely beautiful. I want to build one in my courtyard. Before it's too late, grab yourself some mineral oil and splash some on that little wood bridge. It glistens it and protects. Use it on everything.

    What is the size of your bog, and is it just supported by rocks, or do you have wood support? How deep is the pea gravel, if that is what you are using. Your pond and set up is amazing, you have done a great job!

    • @brentjohnson3147
      @brentjohnson3147  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! The bog is Approx 4' w x 15' L x 1' deep just pea gravel. I have a clean out valve by the fall. Yes, it's a wood frame with 6' stake supports and some rocks.

    beautiful pond and waterfall planning on building similar but more like a stream 1/3 of width, did you need to use aqua blocks or is this just a added expense.

    • @brentjohnson3147
      @brentjohnson3147  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Paul, sounds like a nice build! I think it just depends entirely on the dimensions and goals for your project and honestly I don't know enough about aqua blocks at this point to have an opinion. I've still been happy with my current setup for what that's worth. Best of luck!

    • @PaulConnor100

      @@brentjohnson3147 I take your just using a liner and skimmer/ bog and the pump is sucking the water from the pond and circulating it.

    How are the mosquitos? Are you doing anything about them? Or is there a feature they don't like about it that prevents them from breeding like crazy?

    • @brentjohnson3147
      @brentjohnson3147  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Matt, I have really never had a mosquito problem. The water turns over a few times an hour. Pretty sure my fish would eat any larvae that happened to get past the system.

    • @brentjohnson3147

      Hello, basically I used 2.5''x12'' lumber with metal braces screwed together on each corner. I also used 6' stakes every 2' along the sides screwed in for added support. The rocks on the right side add support but are mostly just cosmetic. Good luck with your pond!
