HOW to CROCHET SCRUNCHIES - Inspired by VSCO Girl Trend Hair Scrunchie

- You can learn how to Crochet Scrunchies in this tutorial video. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. Hair scrunchies seem to have quite a surge in popularity these days due to the VSCO Girl trend. A scrunchie is easy to crochet with 45 yards of DK weight yarn, a size F 3.75 mm crochet hook, and a 2-inch diameter hair elastic. If you get one of those multi color cake yarns, you can separate it by color and make several scrunchies from it.
You will need to already know how to crochet to make these scrunchies. Specifically you will need to know the chain, single crochet and double crochet stitches. These stitches produce a scrunchie with a nice layered, ruffled, lace, mesh look to them.
My daughter Sarah from Reviews by Sarah likes these scrunchies. She laughed when I told her I made these same scrunchies for my own hair when I was a teenager back in the 80s!

Oh, this is such a cute idea! I can crochet scrunchies that match my Hydro Flask and Crocs! ;) Imagine my surprise when I, a 33 year old lady, learned that big shirts, stainless steel water bottles/straws, scrunchies, and Crocs are a Gen Z trend. I just like to be comfy while I save the planet, haha!

@@luvtocraft I've been seeing that! Have you seen the E-girl trend? I have some characteristics of an e-girl as well, apparently. I'm all over the place lol! When I was a kid, we basically just had Jocks, Preps, Nerds/Geeks, Skaters/Stoners, and Goths/Freaks. I would have been a Goth. 🦇🕸😂

Very cute and easy. After round one I didn't cut my yarn, I just slip stitched down to the front loop and kept going. That's how I roll!

I wanted you to know I haven’t crocheted in a long time but my granddaughter has picked it up. I sent her a few of your videos this was one of them she loved.
