- Join me in this episode where I will be embracing the beginning of Spring by refreshing my home, cleaning my sofa, the windows, and carpets. I’ll also give new life to a sideboard by painting it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
On a personal note: This is a relaxing episode that will hopefully bring a few moments of peace as I am sure we're all feeling the stress and anxiety of what's happening in the world. I hope everyone will understand that I am not trying to ignore or disregard what is happening in Ukraine and around the world. What's going on with the war is horrible. We all are sending our thoughts and prayers to the Ukrainian people fighting for their freedom. But we also must carry on and take care of each other and ourselves. The table looks great!

I decided to watch two of your videos today out of curiosity. I wondered why a young man would be dressed the way you were, surrounded by the surroundings you had, such as flowers, tea cups, white furniture and beautiful paintings. I then discovered interesting and valuable information, such as a safe window cleaner solution, how to remove smells from carpet, how to converse with people at social gatherings and how to make cucumber sandwiches (something I have always wished to know!). I love the information you choose to share. Thank you for your efforts.

Yes, I listen to and watch the news every day, as I'm sure you do, but sometimes you need a break from the troubles of the world or whatever might be going on in your own world.

I thought that was very sweet of you to say that you don’t wish to ignore what is going on in Ukraine but you are absolutely right in that we all need a soothing, calming diversion and your video did just that. I think most of us are feeling how fortunate we are and grateful to have a home and security so what better thing to do than make it as beautiful and comfortable as we can. On a side note, my Father is an upholsterer and he mentioned to me that when your couch/sofa cushions get on the flat side, steam them (provided they are sponge based) and they will lift back up. What a lovely Spring freshen up! I really like the sofa table refresh! I have a cleaning tip for washing windows you may find helpful. Wash them exactly how you did, in various directions to get every speck of dirt. However, for your final wipe down, wipe in a single direction for the inside and the opposite direction for the outside. It makes no difference, but I always wipe horizontally on the inside and vertically on the outside. It allows you to determine which side to fix any potential streaks! It’s just easiest for me to remember as I’m primarily vertical when I go outside (thank goodness 😉😆) and more likely to be horizontal when inside! 😉☺️😊 This video was a lovely inspiration for a bit of Spring fever! 🌷💐🌸 Thank you! 🥰😍🥰

The best tip for cleaning windows I learnt from five star hotel cleaners is have 2 microfibre clothes - one wet and one dry. Simply wipe glass with wet cloth and then dry with the other

Use newspapers to clean your windows. It cleans WAY better!! ❤
What's a 'newspaper'?
I wash them with just a cloth and water and then I use newspaper pages to dry them! Windows turn perfect that way!
The slipcovers. Taking them off is the easy part but putting them back on again is my most dreaded job. They always look lovely once finished.
The table came up a treat.
Baking soda on the carpet. Must try this.
I love Glen 20 spray disinfectant carpet . It dries quickly and can be used on carpets, fabric couches, curtains etc. Don't leave your pet in the room wile spraying but once dry it is safe to bring them back into the room.
Thanks for the inspiration. I have a dresser in my bedroom that I've been wanting to paint for a while, you made it look so easy. I would have had paint everywhere, I was glad when I finally saw that you got some on your shirt!!😃I love how it turned out. Give my love to little cutie Sophie!!

I like the idea of using the clear wax rather than a polyurethane coat. The wax is probably better for the environment 🌸🌟

Well, I don't know about it making me relaxed....I stopped the video, got up and put baking soda on my carpeting in the living room since I planned to vacuum today. Also, after watching Jessica L. Scott this morning with her 5 madam chic ways to declutter, I cleaned off and polished half of my desk of papers. Maybe not relaxing, but can't argue with getting things done. I do love your videos!

I love all of the Annie Sloan paint products. I have done quite a few pieces and getting ready to do a beautiful old desk soon. Actually your video has pushed me a little this morning that I really do need to get started on that project. It was nice to have a calm distraction for just a few minutes this morning.
