Thank you Bill for this great in depth video! I bought a CCS Adapter for my 2016 Model X and learned one night afterwards at my free CCS all hooked up that I was a no go at that station! That’s when I found your video and watched it! I just watched it again and I too am wondering where one gets the ECU/ECM Bracket and wiring harness as well as what one does exactly when one hooks up a laptop under the dash board! I will email you in a bit, thank you again!
@@AndrewLanecptplanet Thanks for watching Andrew! I do still sell the Retrofit Kits for Model X and S. (I replied to the email you sent). I also wanted everyone to know that you can now do the CCS Configuration file change yourself in Service Mode if you have a vehicle with MCU2. No more connecting a laptop and having a “friend” do the config change through a laptop like I had to do in my videos
@@bilbo75 I'm very happy to be able to change the software CCS activation settings in service mode when upgrading mcu2. Thank you so much for the good information.

Thanks! There is a sliver of hope on the configuration change front. Some people on Tesla Motor Club are reporting (with pictures) that one of the new software builds (2023.12.1) has a Service Mode option under High Voltage--Charging with a "CCS Retrofit" button. The hope is that it will automatically change the configuration for you once the mod is complete. Thanks for the video. My salvage 2018 MX is being inspected by tesla right now. Hoping it passes and I don't have to do this. the CCS retrofit is scheduled after the inspection for $450. Fingers crossed.
I hope the inspection goes well for you! I’m surprised to hear your getting a Model X inspected. Up until now most Model X owners have not been able to schedule the inspections. Congrats!
You can either go on EBay and search for them or you can email me directly and I’ll sell it to you without the EBay fees tacked on. Bilbosrandomcrap@gmail.com

@@juanaguirre6814Unfortunately, I don’t think there is any way to buy a brand new ECU and wiring harness without getting an adapter with it. You might be able to find someone selling a salvage version though. Both the US and European kits come with their respective adapters for CCS1 (North America) and CCS2 (EU). I generally tell people to just resell the adapters on EBay if they don’t need them. For some reason Tesla always seems to run out of them on their online store, so you can generally get full price for them on EBay.
