Thank you! This was a live saver, I was having the same issue with a BLI NW2. I ended up making a tiny loop on my desk so it could just go in circles while the CVs got sorted out.
I forget that programming makes locos move. My programming track is in one room, my computer that I generally use for accessing JMRI is in another room, so I do a lot of programming "blindly".
I have had my moments of not paying attention and everything was working perfectly until all of a sudden it was not. The locomotive had escaped off the programming track.
you like broadway limited they have a bad rap but i heard the steam engines work great that blue steam engine that jerry show all the time i want one of those but BLI is the only one that makes it this is a great tip
Heath, Interesting tip. Do you use a power booster on your programming track when programming sound equipped locos? Such as the ones from Digitrax or DCC Specialties?……
I do not use a power booster. The DR5000 has an adjustable output on the programming track, and although I have not adjusted it, I have not needed to. I recently got the LokProgrammer, specifically for tweaking ESU decoders, but the basic programming seems to all work without a booster.

Andy, thanks for the comment, I am glad to hear it worked out for you.
Great pro tips Heath! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching! If it helps one person, it was worth it.
Nice! Seems like those around find it to be brilliant- different way from my world!
One day we will get you over to the dark side, LOL.
