    Thank you! This was a live saver, I was having the same issue with a BLI NW2. I ended up making a tiny loop on my desk so it could just go in circles while the CVs got sorted out.

    I forget that programming makes locos move. My programming track is in one room, my computer that I generally use for accessing JMRI is in another room, so I do a lot of programming "blindly".

      I have had my moments of not paying attention and everything was working perfectly until all of a sudden it was not. The locomotive had escaped off the programming track.

    you like broadway limited they have a bad rap but i heard the steam engines work great that blue steam engine that jerry show all the time i want one of those but BLI is the only one that makes it this is a great tip

    Heath, Interesting tip. Do you use a power booster on your programming track when programming sound equipped locos? Such as the ones from Digitrax or DCC Specialties?……

      I do not use a power booster. The DR5000 has an adjustable output on the programming track, and although I have not adjusted it, I have not needed to.
      I recently got the LokProgrammer, specifically for tweaking ESU decoders, but the basic programming seems to all work without a booster.
