This video just popped up on my home page , and wow what a throwback ❤, its August 2023, and I remember watching that in 2012 ... WOW... It feels like a lifetime . @withwonder Enjoying that now as I was enjoying that then ... It's really crazy how everything evolved and many things happened... Still a fan (a friend) in my book...God bless you 💖
This week, I have been watching your OrganizedLikeJen videos and have been so inspired to try to better organize my home and life. Each night I have been tackling an area in small chunks to avoid being overwhelmed. I love your perspective of project management for my projects around the house, rather than just my paying job. I am thinking about filming the process of organizing my 2 kitchen junk drawers. Maybe I'll get the guts to actually post it on TH-cam. Thank again for inspiring me!
Jen, You are so amazing and talented in your organizing! Thanks for taking all the time to share your ideas with us! One thing I am requesting...can you pleeeeeeeez post your Valentines' Day Decorating video BEFORE the holiday? I wanna see your ideas before V-Day comes, so that I might try them out! pleeeeez? thanks! Love ya!
Love all of it! I'm getting ready to put together a new notebook (using the Arc customizable notebook system from Staples) to get a handle and focus on my five main 2012 resolutions. I'll use it to record my thoughts and how things are going with my resolutions. I also thought it would be good to make note of things that others have recommended for these areas. I'm excited about it. Thanks for inspiring us in so many areas of our lives :)
Thanks for the detailed tips for helping the less organized of us! This got me thinking how I shoud be more goal oriented and breaking them down so they are manageable.
I've struggled with a way to manage my tasks, calendars, and projects in one easy format. I started January with just a prooject notebook, but it doesn't work because I am missing my calendar. Thanks for the tips and this video; I see what I was missing and have a way to make the rest of the year go smoothly.
I use a day timer which is similar to the filofax. I just started using it and have already implemented some of your tips as far a project management. I usually just use the month and the weeks but now, I am also during the days. I do make a to do list every night for the next day and it has helped me be motivated to tackle other small projects. I have really enjoyed your tips. I just got finished organizing my master bath closet and drawers with bins I picked up from the thrift store.
This is excellent, especially how you wrote down in details what are you thinking of changing or doing in the craft room. Usually when I reach this point I keep the ideas in my head, but from on I will also brainstorm on paper:) thanks really for all the tips. Iman
Thank you Jen! I have been digital using iCal on all my apple devices. I have bought every app to try and get a system like I had when I was "paper" and it hasn't worked. I thought I was going backwards if I went back to paper. I have my planner filled in and I feel empowered!
Looking forward to your packing series for your trip to WDW. We are also going to Disney in April so I am excited to see how you pack. And yes, I'd love to see a housecleaning video too... that is, unless you have a maid that comes in and cleans for you... LOL ;)
I love your energy and inspiration Jen,I was at one point in my life that I needed to get organized and Flylady was my helper...not sure if you heard of her, there are some videos here on utube, basically she gets you to focus on one room each week and do baby steps in that area,15 minutes a day all week. There are steps to build a control journal much like you are with your filofax, once I built my journal and plan of attack on the home and started,I now have 3 hours extra a day!=) Love ur videos!
I use a moleskine calender with a day per page. All dates, appointements etc are written in black, exams in red, birthdays are purple and holidays are green. I do the same with "blocking" time for my classes and events where I know how long it will take I hope I can stick with my color codeing...I tend to get lazy :D Love your organization, it's so well thought of!
@rmconway50 I bought them from Pottery Barn (that's actually two side by side) in 2007...they don't have it on their site right now but sometimes they bring them back for the holidays. I believe they call them a craft organizer but I'm not sure.
Hey Jen! U are so inspirational! Could u do a video on organizing files? And go into detail as to what u do when the mail comes into the home, to filing. Autopay is great but we have a busy family and I would just love to hear your perspective! Need motivation! Thanks!
That makes me so happy and excited for your upcoming videos. Your videos are always the first ones I watch when I get on TH-cam. Thanks. And I thought It was blue, I can tell by your walls in your house but I just wanted to make sure. :)
I've just got my Filofax A5 Identity out, it's black with two pen holders, card display in the front with a pocket and a pad place at the back. My A5 diary had started to fall apart even in its slip cover so I've punched holes in it and put the loose papers in the Filofax. I use my diary page per day for my to do lists, appointments, housework etc. I've also got places for my dogs training and ID bits, an address book, places to visit, etc. I've also found Philofaxy for the free downloads.
Great video! Thanks to you I've started organizing my calender in more way than just my shift and so far it's been going great (let's ignore the part where I watched your video instead of doing my home study course ;-) I really like being able to see what I've done in a day and get something done. Sure i can always say: "I'll take the trash out on my way to work some day." But now that I've got it planned out I actually do it before my trash can is overflowing!
Is there a particular location to find the sticky notes in the back of your planner, and any local stores that may sell Filofax items? I'm terrible with time management and organization being an online PhD student and I seriously need help lol
If you are still looking for a graphic designer/web designer...My husband is one. Let me know. He's really good. Love all your channels by the way. AND you have made me want to buy certain products you show. Very interesting.
It's funny because I thought I couldn't relate to this when I saw this last year. Now I realise that I so much in my head that haven't been done, I think I need to implement this in my filofax.
Request: Disneyland trip preparation or guest preparation (host family visitors) =) I think you are so nice to consider requests. You are so organized and you do it because you love it not for money or anything in return. Random question What's your favorite color?
Jen thanks so much for posting this video! I already currently have a Dayplanner FamilyPlus Planner, but the system I had in place for using it never quite worked for me. Your video has given me the great ideas i needed to make it perfect! :D Thankyou Jen!!
Jen, I secretly hope you will find and move into your dream house..what an awesome shower of organizing videos that would be! Yayyy!!!! :D Just startted to organize my calendar for 2012. I had to buy those flag stickies :) I hope I will accomplish stuff that I wrote in there - not just admire my neat calendar LOL
Jen, thank you so much for your reply. I was so excited to hear from you...first time...YAHOO Love your .your so sweet and such a great personality. We are going to move to Florida from Maryland and I need so many organization tips right now. Do you have any for moving a single family home. How should I organize boxes and do you have any tips what so ever. If you were to move how would you start????? Love you Jen so much. Hope to hear from you very soon. Love, Rose Marie
Love your videos and just ordered myself a chocolate brown Filofax. I have calendars. I have a Franklin Covey planner. I just can't find the ONE I want. I have an iCal and other apps, too... Will let you know how my new Filofax works...
Hi Jen! I recently stumbled across your channel and have watched so many of your videos. You are amazingly organized! If you wouldn't mind sharing at what point in your life did you become so interested in organizing? Do you consider yourself to be OCD when it comes to be organized? I try to meet (alittle..lol) but sure do want to become better so I will be keeping up with your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your tips! Watching your videos always makes me want to do things a bit better than I currently am:) Good luck with the craftroom project. I too will be conquering my craft room in the near future. Btw, there is a pencil box set on the Veara Bradley site that may help you with your filofax eraser dilema. Its the "pencil box in simply violet". I thought of you when I saw it. :) Continued health and happiness!!
Jen, I love your videos!! Can't wait for your "getting ready for Disney World" video!! I'm also going to Disney in a few months, so I'm looking forward to your tips on what to pack/bring :)
Your system sounds great! You've inspired me to do something similar for all my school work and things. Btw, I'd love to see some school related videos, even if they're just you talking about how you used to organise work when you were at school. Thanks and can't wait for Monday! :)
Would you consider doing a "housecleaning" video? Like, your schedule, favorite cleaning products, etc. I love to organize but hate to clean. I am wondering if you are the same way or if you have a housekeeper? thanks!
Oh boy Jen you sure got me moving today on the office! I dusted off my day planner, much like your filofax, made one project goal, started today on the office purging papers! Im sure I tossed out 4 phone books of paper..lol. I did spend a good 3-4 hours, only have 8 more files to go through then I have to start going through my manuals,I have 2 Jumbo binders of those to go through,I keep each item in itsown clear sleeve and in alphabetical order. Question do you put a date you want to complete it?
I was all about writing and sub cat. etc. But even that seemed to make me feel guilty if I didn't get things done sooooooo, I know have to notebooks by my chair, so at night as I write in my daily journal I can also add or subtract from my next day "To Do list"....Also these Notebooks get bundled together when the month (or 2) is done. I store these in a small chest. The to do list are sometimes more fun to reread years later than the journals, SO don't throw those away!. I have 33 years worth
To start off, I love your videos. Very inspirational and one day I hope to have a craft room similar to yours. I just love it :) I just wanted to suggest, if ever you go back to digital calendars, the app I use (because I hated the ical app on my phone before I got my Macbookpro) is called "Informant". It's a bit on the pricey side as far as apps go but I absolutely love it. You can colour code things and see things visibly (as in not just a little dot on the day). Keep on being awesome! :)
Hey! I have an arc customizable notebook- M by Staples. It works great for me, you should try it out! I am going to get accessories for mine on Sunday. (It is only available at Staples.)
i am a college student and i am looking for a planner / agenda that allows me to have room to write, plan out assignmnets ahead of time , and have a whole years worth of view. i was wondering if filofax allows you too do so? i recently bought a lilly piltizer planner on sale and was upset that the planner started in aug of 2011 and ends in dec 2012...i"ll be sending this agenda back because i wanted a planner that started in 2012 - 2013. anywho just windering
PS Filofax can be expensive but check out Ebay as they can be a lot cheaper on there. I think if I can ever afford a top of the range Filofax then I have arrived and success will be my middle name :)
