A Speedgoat Mountain Luge in Utah

- Handmade sledding luge in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. It takes a good effort and many hours to maintain the track. The creator, Karl Meltzer uses it as off-season training for his typical Ultrarunning career. Many friends and some strangers have helped work on and have enjoyed this track. Stay safe and have fun.

This looks so fun! What a great project. I wish we had enough snow above Boulder for such a track. What is the purpose of the tunnel? Just a cool aspect or does it have some functional value.
legend has it people sled the main trail at Chautauqua after dark...its half a mile long.
I would love to see trains of tubes on this track!

Thats incredible. Only once in Austria, in the year 2005 when there was record snowfall and around 4m depth @ 750m altitude have I ever been able to make something comparable to this with big berms and high walls. Any idea how long it is? Looks to be 250m+

On mine, i cant decide if I should make the sides, beveled and angled, or straight up and down like yours
Mine are currently straight, but the sleds keep bumping into them
