I know right? Really makes you wish audio engineers would mix bass tracks a little bit better. It doesn't need to overpower the mix but a bit more oomph and clank adds so much to metal songs. It makes everything way heavier.

Love that bass. It's super cheap on the used market lately.. It's got a good solid growl to it. Through a DI and an optical compressor and you can pretty much play anything with it.
Hard to beat the value you get with these Schecter basses. Were you set on the SLS or did you check out the apocalypse too? Great tone and playing BTW!
I completely agree, i will always prefer Tech 21 products over Darkglass, and for someone like me who is mainly an Oldschool DeathMetal bassist i am not too fond of the newer distorted bass sound.
I'm probably about to get alot of hate BUT! the tone doesn't sound all that good to me. Fantastic playing but the dark glass just didn't sound good to me
