  • The Transporter might not be the biggest selling van in the UK - it’s got some way to go to overtake the mighty Ford Transit - but it’s arguably one of the most popular in the country as it’s consistently the most searched for van on Auto Trader.

    I bought this very van in April, now on 12400 miles and very happy with it.
    Had a T5.1 140 TDi before and it didn’t like short journeys, no problem with petrol.
    Averaged 29.5 so far, same use in the TDi was 35, therefore a bit more expensive on fuel but not much.
    No EGR or DPF worries is worth the difference in my opinion.

    Decent review - lots of useful information in a nice, concise, 5 minute video. Even down to options which are available and you would have chosen.

    A Great van and I believe it can turn into awesom camper van . A small kitchen by the sliding door and with extended burner from outside . A divide bathroom set at back of the van plenty room if we can get ride off the backseats and add a fold away table . A few cabinets hannging on top . Last but not least a pop top add to it . Why the people can't think of it especially those in the business

      Ruairi Mccarthy. Your right in a way as I get about 34 mpg out of a diesel and with petrol being cheaper than diesel it costs about the same to do the same mileage and the petrol is far cheaper when it comes to emission charges so in a way your wrong too

  • @veggiebiker
    @veggiebiker 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Poor mpg with the petrol or DPF problems with the hideously complicated diesel- maybe Fords phev could be the answer. The diesels might be ok for high mileage commercial use but what about private owners who want to keep a van for 10 or 20 yrs...all that high tech/dpf/sensors etc is going to be a nightmare. Outside of a warranty might as well chuck a match in the tank.

    • @petewatson7031
      @petewatson7031 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can confirm the cup holders in the T6 are poor, unfortunately. Early T6's had them in the dash which were better, they're now beneath the media unit and tend to eject your drink on any sizeable UK bumps

      Nonsense. The T6 courtesy vehicle I borrowed returned 56mpg over a 22 mile cross-country run. That was a T32 150 bhp diesel Kombi. We need to remove all the idiotic, virtue-signalling politics from the motor industry and just let the manufacturers get on with building fuel efficient vehicles.

      Pat Murphy .........And you base that opinion on what indeed? A wee bit of back up to the statement would be useful, if it’s not too much trouble. I’m in the market for a “van with seats” and the second hand prices of the VW Transporter are, to quote you, “overpriced” therefore doesn’t the cost balance out in the end.

    • @sheelindecor7593
