The M60 has a dedicated proprietary shroud/moderator system that has a 15 x 1.5 barrel thread. At least the Zelos shroud is threaded 1/2X20 for moderator of your choice . Yes, it is an M60 but with improvements IMO. And less $. Andy’s Airgun Reviews stated the M60 is 649 pounds UK. Zelos is $599 USD
Hello friend, thank you for your comment! Shot count is not affected by range, but IS affected by tune. None of us really know the answer yet, but I think it won't be long for the aftermarket to add a bottle to these.
Granted it's a snow peak, but why not offer it with a carbon fiber bottle at the same price point and save everyone some money. I still like it interested to see how It shoots, and what the shot count is with the air cylinder.
I am excited to see what the Zelos will look like with a carbon bottle but if Umarex did put one it it would be a $6-700 airgun then. Plus a lot of us geeks like to tinker.
Just my experience and opinion. The good: The gun shoots good one in another at 50 Yards so far. I get about 30 shots per fill in .25. It's really quiet without a moderator. It shoots 34gr slugs great at about 850 fps and 28gr pellets at about 930 fps reg maxed out at 2000 psi. (but reg gauge says like 2200 or 2300 psi and the tank gauges says 2000 when equal) The barrel is a "heavy gauge" steel bar with a riffled hole it, good or bad ?. The not so good: If you put a moderator on it make sure its very light design or it will pull barrel down really affecting point of impact. Barrel bends with finger pressure, I don’t like attachment point the outer sleeve not ridged which intern affects barrel, so don’t drop it or have it slide down when leaned on a wall "ever". The trigger is horrible, i adjusted it to max sensitivity (the sear adjustment was all the way backed out, out of box) and tightened up and it's a bit better, 14 screws to get to trigger adjustments. The magazine pushes out really easy between cocking. The outer barrel sleeve and end nut threads off really easy. The actual barrel ends like 4 or 5 inches inside the sleeve then there is a void the rest of the way, I guess this is why is so quiet, I don’t think the gun likes a moderator because of this, i would prefer barrel to the tip then put a moderator on it. The butt stock adjustment horrible. The gauges don’t match hundreds of psi off between them. I probably would not have bought this gun if I knew all this, maybe at $400 or maybe would have got an aircuda max. I plan to convert it to a bottle gun if I can get the parts from the snowpeak parts (which are all sold out) houses and just play with it as it is not a serious gun, these guns are available on Amazon. I have a FX DRS Classic in 700mm that I have made a bench slug gun out of, basically a DRS PRO now with a match trigger the difference in quality is shockingly superior with the FX for only $400 more so maybe i am just spoiled. The FX DRS once you work out the bugs is a bad ass PCP. What i have learned clearly, is "all" the reviews out there on the Zelos are not matching my experience. Kinda like Kamala, actually very much like that!!
@@SquidAir Arrrrrrrrrh yes, the snow peak M60 is available in the UK! This looks like it could be a good buy. Is there an equivalent to the Notos as well do you know please?
I’m a big fan of your podcast from over here in the UK. I only discovered it a couple of months ago so I’ve been ‘binging’ on it! Keep up the good work.
Well I have to say to Umarex is you have a chance to make a lot of money with Zelos an air rifle that looks similar to the FX impact that I know a lot of people wanted, but just could not afford. Just create a market for accessories make it be upgradable like a carbon fiber bottle and at least bring it up to 30 caliber with real power behind it. I know other companies with that similar air rifle are making it to 35.caliber with a bottle, but I rather buy it from Umarex knowing that got pretty good customer support from my experience and always seem to have parts available.
Nothing new here just the usual rebranded products that somebody actually else invented . if you took all of Umarex products that some other manufacturer made ...Umarex probably only made five guns in their history.
It has to do with quality control and standards Umarex has for the airguns they put their name on. Plus it about customer support. Many other manufactures of many other products have rebranded and changed things to make it there own.
Yet another air rife that is more about plumbing than aesthetics. I'm deeply bored of modern air rifle fashions, all that pseudo-military fake tactical rubbish and having the works on the outside. They all look the same.
I would prefer function over pretty. If you don't like the look of it there of the FX king or the the Avenge X if you have a fetish for wood. I like in high humidity area and wood stocks are a liability to accuracy due to swelling and shrinking is poor constructed. Honestly this is a sub 1000 gun if you want pretty there are plenty of pretty guns you just need to pay a higher price
@@earlscott982 Firstly it's a deliberate fashion for utilitarianism, not a way of making a great gun a bit cheaper. They are deliberately making guns with the guts on the outside because that is what guns look like now, look at top-end Daystates, Brococks and so on. Second, form and function are so closely linked that your argument doesn't work: the traditional gunstock has been evolving for alf a millennium to the point that they are close to perfect but these plumbing-based things have only been around for twenty and are less practical, less comfortable and less pleasant to use. Third, liking wood for gunstocks is not a "fetish", wood is long lasting, warm to the hand and face, takes a knock better than metal or plastic, and if you take care of it will last for hundreds of years. And if you find that your wooden gunstock is being affected by humidity then don't be so damned lazy and oil it every time it gets damp.
@@earlscott982 Explain to me why pretty well all bottom-end Chinese airguns have wooden stocks? It depends. Walnut is more expensive than beech is more expensive than beech-composite is more expensive than whatever wood SnowPeak use. And proper ballistic polymer is as expensive as walnut. You make too many generalisations.
Nothing GOOD looking about a bottle though.just more shots i prefer a tube for asthetics..once they have a TRS rail for it i think ot wil be sharp lookin...im used to looking at the impact and wildcat

At that price point I'd probably go for the Artemis/Snowpeak offerings, and keep to higher end stuff for my more serious sessions.
I just wish it was at least a little different than the m60

They should of made it a bigger caliber for the price you pay

only downside is crossman red flight lead free pellet wont fit even single shot tray version doesnt fit either
