@@slimrockwrestlers7334 Well thing is that the 500f in my mind is one of and possibly the best 500cc bike ever made in my eyes. I'm a huge fan of it, so for me id proberly keep the 500f tbh. Build quality and ride quality is far superior on the F tbh. But it will be being a Honda of course, they take some beating!
Good review, I know a lot of people arent in favour of Chinese bikes. But I think they are doing a great job with the Benelli range. Im looking forward to the Leoncino 800 and the trail version.
I have ridden the Leoncino and found it not bad for a 500 as it shares the same engine as the 502c, seat was a bit hard on your bum, but there are OEM alternatives, I then rode the Royal Enfield Interceptor, this was a similar ride, however I like the look of this as its quirky, I reckon you have to want one as its resale value wont be enormous just because of its pedigree. Never the less if I was to invest in a naked cruiser I would lean towards these you get quite a bit for your £ Good and honest review.
Hmmm, down the Turf eh? Hope it was only a coke lol. Benelli usually use Suzuki engines, if that one is the same, it should be bullet-proof. Nice review mate, keep them coming! RSM8
Great review. Thanks for showing leg positioning on the bike at 0:38, it's a great help. I like the look of the bike and appreciate the gear indicator being a new rider. However, I've seen e-bikes with larger LCD screens and something less petite would have been appreciated in my opinion. Motorcycle News pointed out the wide handlebars as well, but also commented that the brake levers had quite a large span even after adjustment. Did you notice that being an issue?
Thanks Barry. No I had no issue with the lever span at all. Seemed just like my nc750 to me. The v while bike felt good to me. The front foot postion surprised me with the comfort of it. I found it quite comfortable although lower back to a bit of a beating but it was still OK.
Hi mate, love the review. I’m about to do my DAS after 30 years away from riding, and am looking at the 502c or the Vulcan S when I’m done…. I’d guess it’s between a new 502c or 2nd hand Vulcan…. Any thoughts? I really like the look of the Benelli, but have yet to see any feedback on longer.-term reliability and build quality issues…. Cheers.
I can't really comment because I haven't tried the vulcan. The benelli is reliable but not as much as the vulcan is the truth of it. But depends on your budget really
Hi ,great review. I live in China. Now I'm torned between this benelli and the Kawasaki Vulcan s .Vulcan costs over 11500 pounds here in China. Is the Vulcan worth the extra money ?
Thank you for this excellent review E. R. I am 65 and planning to get back into biking after a hiatus of about 40 years. Thus I am looking for a beginners bike and put an eye on the 502C. Do you think this bike will fit a beginner? I worry a bit about its weight. My first choice before I stumbled over the Benelli was the CB500F. I read in some comments below that you think the Honda is superior but somehow I fell in love with the 502C. Greetings from Austria and thanks in advance for your advice.
Great to know I'm reaching you! You will soon get used to the weight. The bars are large and it can put pressure on your lower back so bear that in mind. Yes the 500f is better in many ways, but if 502 is the way you want to go then go for it my friend! 👍🍻
Tried that, it didn't work because the camera got far too twitchy. On this particular video is worse than my others because when I done the vwalkround someone walked initio my helmet and moved the camera. Normally you can see the dash etc.
Is the footrest of the bike adjustable? I'm kinda a small guy but I really really love the design and the fact that it's a baby Diavel just make me want to own one badly.
I think you will be fine on it. The height and width of the handlebars may be more of a issue. If you like it now you will like it more once you sit on one for sure 👍🍻
They both have different quality's is the honest answer. The benelli seat was more comfortable and had a great dash but the Honda had a better handlebar set up and switch gear.
The bikes are good for the money but the parts situation is bad. Heard of so one through a dealer friend who had to wait several months for a new dash. Nothing like the spares backup you get from Honda.
Yes the Honda parts are very good. I was told parts are just 24 hours now but it would be intresting to put that to the test, that is something they need to get on to of our they won't sell any bikes if the after sales is like that! Apart from that they are a great ride.
This is Melbourne, Australia. I was interested in a 500 Leoncelli Trail- not cheap $10K Australian. TRK502 too bulky ( I’m 5’8 & need a step ladder), overweight, underpowered. Like an Africa Twin- drop it might as well toss a match on it and start thumbing a lift.
Right now, I am tinkering about getting a new bike. It is a toss between the Leoncino or this 502c. This looks much cooler IMO, but I will never buy again a bike just based on looks (did this with my first one, and had to suffer until now. Leoncino might be more sensible, as I need to attach a bit of luggage.Seems not possible with this Baby Diavel. But man, she does look cool...will decide after a test ride. Either way, I hope it will not too big a quality difference to my current Yamaha. We shall see...at least Benelli German headquarters nearby.
Hi Sandra, I think I would go leoncino. Better seat, easier to filter, better luggage options, still looks great. If I'm honest I think I would get rid of the badge on the front mud guard.
@@exeterrider Yes, I almost think so. I already sat on the Leoncino last year, and it felt great (good knee angle, upright seating position, very important for me). My current bike is an XT 600 E, so I really want to keep the comfortable seating position, but loose the seat height. I slapped some big boxes onto it. I know this is most likely not possible with either the Leoncino nor the 502C. But with the Leoncino, maybe at least a topcase plus two soft panniers might be possible. I guess no such thing on the 502c...But still, I will take at least a look at it.
Yea, I have been on the forums and they seem to have little issue with the engines, a few coolant leaks here and there and that's all. Still hard to get over the Chinese bike thing. But people had that attitude in the 70s with Japanese bikes and they done OK 😉🏍️👍
Yeah, it's a big leap of faith for me. My Yam run almost 20 years without any issues. But I think as I have German Benelli headquarters nearby, I might take the risk. I tried the Honda 500 cc and 650 cc range, and I felt not comfortable on any on them. Sadly, nothing for me regarding Yamaha (Ténéré is lovely to look at, but then I will need a ladder to climb on). My husband will keep his Yam (same model as mine, he is perfectly fine), so I cannot go too big regarding HPs. In that regard, these two Benellis might work fine. Question nobody can answer: how long will they last? But maybe Chinese bikes are not as bad as many think...Guess somebody has to do it...
Yes your right. On the flip side to the Chinese bike benelli thing is when/if you bought one it's a big 2 fingers up to the rest of the crowd. You may get alot of "what problems have you had" like I ask many benelli owners and they all have said so far "nothing really". Hondas and yams have there own issues but lean on the whole reliable thing which is well earned. You sound to me like the benelli is the one, the Yam has done well but I say bite the bullet and get the leoncino. If you do let me know and stay in contact 👍🍻🏍️
i know they are very different bikes - tourer vs cruiser, but did you have a preference for either this bike or the cbr 500r. I'm a newly returned veteren rider (50 yo , off the bike for 10 years). I've always had semi sports orientated bikes. But thinking maybe cruiser is a nice way to return to casual riding... any comments welcome. From Australia ! :)
Hi, yes a tourer is a good way to go I agree however the 500r really is stiff competition for this cruiser, and the 500r is more comfortable tbh. Tough one. Have you thought about the leoncino aswell? That's a happy medium.
@@exeterrider thanks for your comment. Yes the dealer has a leoncino. I sat in it. Seemed fine. I ride a Mt03 now (1st bike back) and the position is similar. My thinking though is not to buy the same bike (style) twice... So bigger sports bike or bigger tourer (than mt03)
@@exeterrider thanks again for the response. 1 last question. As mid sized sports bikes. Did you like cbr500r more than or less than the ninja 400. Both seem nice. But different reviews keep referring ro track performance. I would only ride as commute or small day tours.
Hi. Nice review! I ordered this bike, but it come in one month, and now i can't try it. In my country 502c will star to sell just in october/ november. Can you tell what is your hight? Thaks in advance.
Yeap. They have a uphill battle to gain confidence of others. There has been very few issues with the TRK range and mainly just speedo cables. If they can get their after sales right and get the parts in 24hours they will be sorted. It was a great bike to ride.
They have made this dash generic for up and coming Bennelli in the future which will have the same dash. Its a bit silly they left it in to be honest if its not usable.
The TRK502 has stood the test of time. That has the same engine. It may not be Honda quality but its still more than good enough. And again the TRK also is more comfortable, cheaper, higher speced, better seat. There is a good argument to buy benelli. I had a similar discussion when I tried the RE intercepter and they also have done well. I respect your opinion👍🍻

@Ilham Sabirin hi, I have been road riding since 2004 but before that as a kid a friend of mine has a farm bike we traced around and also alot of quad biking over the years. I only own the NC750X.
No such thing as a stupid question. I'd rather you asked. At the moment there are no luggage options available but a rear fabric or leather panniers bags off of the small pillion seat would work very well.
I own a 2020 Rebel, I'm looking at trading it on a Leoncino, I will lose thousands. Rebel suspension is woeful, the rear is very short travel and bumps crash up through your spine, the front of mine has sagged at 2,500 km and bottoms easily. The reverse LCD (white on black) is impossible to read in the daytime, at least in Australia where we have sun. The brakes work but are very spongy, you can see the front hoses swell, the Benelli has braided lines I believe. Not happy with quality compared to my very old CT110 parked out in the garden, even my RE 350 classic rides and handles better than the Rebel.
@@raygale4198 I'd seriously question the notion that you'd be changing the Honda for a better quality Benelli. Personally I'd be considering fitting braided lines and maybe a progressive front spring kit and cheaper but decent rear shocks (Hagon)or whatever is available in Oz .I'm assuming this would cost about £400 not sure what that is in Aus$
@@captainaverage721 I have already fitted longer adjustable rear shocks, added preload adjusters and longer spacers to the front. How much extra money do you pour into a brand new nearly $10,000 bike just to get it safe to ride? I spent $300 for some cheap Chineseium rear shocks just as proof of idea that the standard rears are too short, longer more compliant is better, new CB600R Linear springs are another $400 or so, braided brake lines, there are six flexibles (total front and rear) that are part of rigid brake pipe assemblies, would need the bike stripped to near bare chassis to access and replace them. Then there's the instruments that are unreadable, the Dunlop tyres that are dangerous in cold weather, fine over about 25 C. And the most bizarre one they deliberately designed in engine vibration to give the bike more 'character', take a beautiful smooth 500 twin mess with the valve timing of one cylinder, yes one only, each cylinder has different valve timing so the engine goes through resonances.
Ok so it's so much "Italian" as it is "Chinese", they bought the company out and it's all made over here now and QC isn't the best in the business. Secondly I have an Imperiale that I ride daily and 1500kms later it already needs a replacement rear brake assembly. Thirdly they're overpriced for what they are and those engines are under powered for a 220kg bike. You'd be better off with a CFMoto 650 GT or 700CL-X, both of which are great thanks to their partnership with KTM and the latter of which has a forged 700cc engine.
Oh, and the range is only about 170kms to a tank. They're pretty yes, but a good bike not so much. They use that same 500cc engine in everything from TRK502 to the Leoncino models.
@@exeterrider 35kw on a 220kg bike just isn't enough. Same deal with the TRK502, they're underpowered. I tested both of these and the CFMoto rides I mentioned and quality wise, range (distance vs fuel capacity) as well as power to weight is better on the CFMotos. But each to their own and that's the cool thing about bikes.
@@justaclosedaccount yeap exactly my view on it. They don't have much power all things considered but to me that means you see more when on tour because its a steady ride. Like you say each top they're own and that's the way I see it too👍

i've had my old Benelli 900 Sei since 1986, it might just be time to sell the six and use some of the money to buy the new Benelli 502C. I really love the styling and at £5.5k on the road it's excellent value.
Nice bike. I bet your bike is worth a some money now. But having it that long I expect you won't want to part with it!
I recently took the plunge and bought one in Australia, performance is excellent. Annoyingly it has an unusual and strong vibration at 3500 - 4000 rpm range in all gears... Feels like something is not right in the front end??
Can't say I noticed that myself at the time. No bike is perfect if course but first port of call is get the front wheel off the ground and give it a wiggle to check the bearings I suppose, might be a dealer job to check through?
@@exeterrider Thanks i will check with the dealer..
Id be inserted if they find something let me know. Thanks for viewing 👍💯
@@exeterrider hi Exeter Rider. Dealer did an engine diagnostic check. No issues. I'm putting it down to a few vibrations. An engine not as smooth as my little Yamaha.. Over sensitive hearing (me?).. SOlution... rev it harder and enjoy the ride. 1500 km down. The 502c performs beautifully. Highway speeds (not speeding) are relaxing. And around town it is quick off the mark and easy to handle.. At this stage its a big thumbs up. cheers
Great reveiw mate, and thanks to you I popped down to CMS to take a look, I'm hoping to take my mod 2 as soon as covid allows, and was thinking of making this my step up from the 125 I currently have. Have been toying with a sports tourer after riding to work in the great south west weather we have had lately, but keep getting drawn back to this bike.....

Hi Exeter this is not a bad bike looks like a good cruise all day bike nice watching the world go by nice review
Hi Tom, yes it was quite comfortable. I was impressed overall. 👍
Just ordered one of these. I thought a nice touch on the bike was the supplied fitted paddock stand bobbins. May be a small thing but useful addition that I’ve never seen supplied with any other bike👍
Very true Geoff, if only they could all do that! Congrats, stay in contact and let me know if you have any issues.
They sound lovely. When's delivery? Where are you based?
@@exeterrider Hi. I’m based in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire. Went to an “open day” today at The Bike Sanctuary near Northampton. They were doing some good deals including £250 off new purchase today, and free local delivery. Couldn’t resist. Had already test ridden the standard Benelli 500 which felt good, but just sitting on the 500C I new it was the one for me. Got to wait patiently for delivery in approx 10 days or so. Hi. A follow up to previous. Received delivery Saturday after a few delays apparently due to electrical problems re blank dash display. Dealer claimed they had the same fault with another one. Had bike 2 days and same fault has occurred. Display worked for one day, then today nothing. Returning to dealer tomorrow. Wonder if this could be a big hiccup to spoil good reviews?
@@AZQ891 damn electronics on bikes these days are such a pain....very hit and miss !!! I hope they sort it for you soon....and for good! I haven't heard of this issues on these bikes I must admit.

@@exeterrider I've got a cb500f at the moment and not sure weather it would be worth the swop , would you say it's better than the cb500f

Me too! People don't take to Japanese bikes in the 60sand 70s but they done ok👍😉
@@exeterrider exactly.
Never the less if I was to invest in a naked cruiser I would lean towards these you get quite a bit for your £
Good and honest review.
Thanks TR.👍
P. S I totally agree about the resale value
Hmmm, down the Turf eh? Hope it was only a coke lol. Benelli usually use Suzuki engines, if that one is the same, it should be bullet-proof. Nice review mate, keep them coming! RSM8
Cheers Ian , pub was closed...and it started to rain right in the middle of the walk round!
@@exeterrider ah bummer nothing worse than watered down beer, I mean coke. 😊
Great review, cheers fella!

I have heard a few complaints about the 502x being slightly heavier high up, making turning difficult.
Yes its a little top heavy I agree, but not too bad. You get used to it.
Hi ,great review. I live in China. Now I'm torned between this benelli and the Kawasaki Vulcan s .Vulcan costs over 11500 pounds here in China. Is the Vulcan worth the extra money ?
I'm a big fan of the Vulcan so I'd say yes it is 👍🍻
Thank you for this excellent review E.
@@exeterrider Thank you for your quick reply. I let you know about my decision.🙂
@@FTStratLP Please do Thankyou, goodluck
Try the Leoncino , great review mate :)
Cheers phil. Sorry I left my helmet off again, I must try harder 🤣
@@exeterrider :)
You should put the camera on the front bottom of your helmet. When your riding. You can literally only see the right mirror.
Tried that, it didn't work because the camera got far too twitchy.
On this particular video is worse than my others because when I done the vwalkround someone walked initio my helmet and moved the camera. Normally you can see the dash etc.
I wouldn't concider this a premium product considering it's price. But a nice bike non the less.
Rides like a premium bike for sure though 👍
Is the footrest of the bike adjustable? I'm kinda a small guy but I really really love the design and the fact that it's a baby Diavel just make me want to own one badly.
I think you will be fine on it. The height and width of the handlebars may be more of a issue. If you like it now you will like it more once you sit on one for sure 👍🍻
Another great review :-)
Very kind and much appreciated thanks 👍
Would you say it is better than the Honda 500 cc range?
They both have different quality's is the honest answer. The benelli seat was more comfortable and had a great dash but the Honda had a better handlebar set up and switch gear.
Just got one yesterday and I love it.......
Congrats Brian. lovely bikes and the screen is possibly the best screen I have laid my eyes on.
Great Job ! thank you
Thank you for watching it 👌
Can we carry essential items for long tour along with pillion?, or extension to do ?
Not really. You will need a rear rack for it
Looks very nice. Especially the trellis swingarm but 220kg! Hell of a lump for a 500cc twin
Yeap it is!
Late reply just seen vid what are your comments on filtering I'd assume quite hard if not impossible what with handlebar width
Yes they are to wide for that really. It would put you on edge. 👍
i love this bike so comfy
Yes it is a real good bike.
Great review! Thinking of grabbing one of these in the next year or should I wait for the bigger CC model?
Sorry I somehow missed this comment. No get the 500, it's more suited to the bike. I actually prefer this grunty engine to the 752 engine.
@@exeterrider Thanks :) Think I might just stick some tape across the light sensor so the dash is always in one mode xD

Hello, looking to buy/order either this 2022 502c or 2022 honda cb500f, which is better
The Honda is hard to beat to be honest. Both are very different bikes.
That's why I'm not sure, thanks tho
Pending on budget, the vulcan 650?
i know they are very different bikes - tourer vs cruiser, but did you have a preference for either this bike or the cbr 500r.
@@exeterrider also only because i might try the cruiser. Did you like rebel 500 as much as the 502c? Thanks in advance.
I liked those 2 equally really, but for me out of the hondas the 500f and CBR wowed me the most and the x disappointed me.

1 last question. As mid sized sports bikes. Did you like cbr500r more than or less than the ninja 400. Both seem nice. But different reviews keep referring ro track performance. I would only ride as commute or small day tours.

Another nice review. Not sure about long term reliability.
Yeap. They have a uphill battle to gain confidence of others. There has been very few issues with the TRK range and mainly just speedo cables. If they can get their after sales right and get the parts in 24hours they will be sorted. It was a great bike to ride.
Would it suits a taller rider? 6ft 3?
It is very low but the pegs are forward. I think you will be OK though, (I'm. 50/50) sit on one of you can 👍
@@exeterrider I will indeed, going to a local shop in the coming weeks so hopefully there's one in stock.... thanks 👌
Why did it say "comfort" on the dash?
They have made this dash generic for up and coming Bennelli in the future which will have the same dash. Its a bit silly they left it in to be honest if its not usable.
I'm 6' 2". Do you think I'll fit on it?
Yes I think so. It will feel low to the ground for you though

A baby Diavel? A bit of a porker but appears a strangely compelling bike. This or a 500 Rebel?
The benelli is a better ride. If they can win the aftersales service and win consumer confidence then I would go benelli
@@raygale4198 Aye fair enough bin it
Ok so it's so much "Italian" as it is "Chinese", they bought the company out and it's all made over here now and QC isn't the best in the business.
I really like the 500 engine. It also sounds brilliant. 👍
Like you say each top they're own and that's the way I see it too👍
@@exeterrider that's true, but you'd want to make sure you have a lot of petrol stations when you are 🤭 the dealer has said the range is about 170km to a 21 litre tank. A friend who owns a Leoncino 500 has also said something similar. I think it's more of a town bike personally. They're nice ride, don't me wrong, and they are pretty, just feels like it was designed by the budget committee and could have been better. But...
