    Also, this reminds me of Planet Crafter and I was addicted to that game for a hot minute.

      Man, a game like this would be fun to play in VR. I dont know how difficult it would be to port it over to the quest, but you might make a good penny on a platform with such a limited offering if you do port it.

    When in the drill on the top left little screen there 3 square buttons on the top of it that the middle button brings you over to the drone control screen and the right button lets you recall the drones and some other stuff once you uplock it.

    I have not played this yet. But I am guessing you could have picked up the drone miner thing had you tried before you picked up the biomass. Your hand tool has 3 lights at the top, that turned on as you gathered those fruit. Once you gathered enough, it said you did not have any more storage. My guess is you had to get it before you filled up on biomass.

    All men yearn for the mines. This is why Minecraft is the best selling game in history, why terraria was made in 6 months and has become one of the most profitable games hour of work to dollar produced ever. It is why not1 but 2 men in separate continents spent their entire lives digging through a solid rock mountain as a hobby. They were both successful btw.
    It is in all of us. The rock calls to all! Rock and stone. Reject modernity, return to granite!

    Drill strength plus speed. Then storage. For you will be upgrading asap you wont need storage until after you upgrade speed and strength, strength allows you to get the rock speed allows you to increase the rate you get the rock. Just a friendly tip on strategy. Any game like this or similar mechanics always go for function before capacity for you wont function enough resource to justify the capacity

  • @MrDevintcoleman

    A very SOMA or The Prestige question, but: assuming teleportation worked the way you talked about at the beginning, would you be okay with knowing your old self suffered horribly at the end?
    It feels similar to a thought experiment I really like: if you were to find out that while under general anesthesia you were actually just paralyzed, could feel everything, but would have no memory, conscious or subconscious, of it, would you consider yourself to have experienced that?
    Also; man, that RuneScape blue iron comment really brought a flash of nostalgia.

    • @DouLeX
      @DouLeX ปีที่แล้ว

      I, personally, wouldn't mind. If I'm an exact replica of my old self, what does that change? That a person is dead? Technically no, even if my new self is just a clone. And besides, I'm sure there is some kind of memory erasing feature if teleplrters actually worked that way. None the wiser.

    • @MrDevintcoleman
      @MrDevintcoleman ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DouLeX that’s how I feel too. I had a friend in college who was of the philosophy that a significant part of what was “him” was his physical body. I forget exactly but I feel like that’s called something like materialism (in philosophy). I, personally, feel that I am my mind, which definitely opens me up to questions about how my current self would feel about my older self with dementia. And then there’s the non-thought-experiment reality of even if I’m “gone” I’m not gone to loved ones and they have to suffer through me disappearing while still alive.

    • @DouLeX
      @DouLeX ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrDevintcoleman The body is just a shell, it doesn't define us, besides some physical characteristics. Our true selves live on with our loved ones. Even though I'm in my late 30s, I can't say that I've ever known who I really am. Those who are closest to me are probably the only ones that can truly define me. This is the kind of rabbit hole that goes really deep, which leads to some incredibly existential topics. I try not to overthink it, many have gone insane pondering on these things. I don't think we've developed enough as a species to truly understand how our mind works. Gotta get rid of some basic problems first, like incessant wars, hunger, poverty, etc. Maybe some day.

    Cataclismo was my favourite demo of this last NEXT FEST but I wasn't served up this game... I think I would have liked it. I got SO many City Builders and most of them weren't ready for Demo IMO. In fact almost all of the demos I checked out left me mostly disappointed. There were a bunch were I saw the potential and look forward to them after they get a bit more time to bake but too many of the games, again this is just my opinion, were cookie cutter copies of already successful games without really adding anything new at all. IMO, if you are going try to make the next Banished then you need it to do EVERYTHING Banished already does and then add to it in some interesting way. And Ideally city builders following the Banished template will have more then the exact same building Banished already has... heck most of them don't even have all of those! Granted they are under development but I"ve seen too many go that route and not have an expanded selection of building to increase depth of play they just stop when they have what Banished made the norm, or if you asked me the BARE MINIMUM!.

    I love these indie game demos, but maaaan, I really do hate the Steam Next Fest...
    Most of the demos are tied to it and you can't download them if you want them later, which is the dumbest idea ever imho.
    The purpose of a demo is to demonstrate your game to your potential customers. If they can't play your demo, because you believe yourself to be a mobile dev who has to timegate access to stuff, then your potential customers will find another way to get their hands on your demo... After all, it's free... it isn't stealing...
    No sane developer on this planet wants their customers to start debating and convincing themselves about the legality of pirating their stuff months before they release said stuff...
    Trust me, if someone has to pirate a demo, then they are one giant step closer to pirating the full version as well...
