But, post Katrina I noticed a different attitude: more mean and dangerous. Wife and I went a few years ago for meals at Irene's,my favorite restaurant of all. That was great: the city itself not so much. Saw fights and too many homeless to count and it was just unnerving to be there.
When does a dumb political statement ever make sense? Now, the criminals know an everyday person they go to rob just might have a gun on them. The criminals might make them think twice. Fighting Constitutional carry is showing support for the criminals.
Here is a simple common sense solution - Stay out of New Orleans. Do not invest 1 cent anywhere in New Orleans. You want to come visit then make sure you have police detail assigned. I recently learned the New Orleans police is for sale to whomever can afford the cost but i still recommend that no one goes to New Orleans or spends a single cent in New Orleans. If the state and politicians feel the pain enough it will force them to take out the trash to make that city safe
"The usual suspects" is the new phrase that you guys just love to apply, but I've never once seen your type say that on any news reports of a school, church, grocery store, or mall shooter. Be more productive in coming up with more sensible thoughts, and whatever the case be sure to keep that same energy across the board.

It's a combination of both, but not limited to either. These people grow up with lack, and no it's not just out of laziness. It stems from systematic practices that were put in place long before they were born. Much of it was involving legislation that had a negative impact on certain demographics and communities. You have to look at the totality of all of the various factors. Only then, will there ever be an actual chance at viable solutions.

Look at what happened in Memphis Tennessee since that law passed. Every single day someone getting shot. Every single day. My family is still in Louisiana and I have to worry about them and their safety after this passes.

New Orleans has been that way for decades, nothing has changed. The important thing is for the city to give the “illusion” of a safe and nonviolent environment. Tourism money is a lifeline in New Orleans. The concern is more guns on streets carried by people who are going to get robbed anyway and their firearm taken from them.
