  • What noise cancelling aviation headset should I buy? In this video, I’m reviewing the Faro G2 ANR aviation headset which is a very affordable noise cancelling aviation headset. I go into a lot of detail about the quality and craftsmanship of this great noise reduction headset, so if you want to purchase a good headset for a reasonable cost, you should check this one out!

    I have been using this headset for the last year and a half. It got me through my private pilot and all of my flying since then. It has been comfortable and reliable. I’ve also never had batteries die sooner that expected. I cannot recommend the Faro G2 enough. After I started flying on my own, it’s the headset I bought for my passengers to use. It may not have all the bells and whistles but it’s well within my budget and the noise reduction is excellent!

    Excellent video Josh. I have that exact headset. It has been great so far, about 8 months. It can be hard on batteries if you use cheaper brands. Its definitely a great headset for the price. Thanks for the review and your thoughts. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies my friend 🇺🇸🛩️

      I have been using the same headset for a while and I have always used top quality batteries. I’m inclined to believe, based on my experiences, that batteries are one of those items that you get what you pay for.

    I really hope that you're going to read my comment. I do not know how to contact you personally. so I'm just going to post it on your video. so let's make a long story short I just passed my FAA knowledge test all thanks to your great videos.so let me explain why it was very important. so I am 48 years old and I'm flying since I was 14 years old but I have dyslexia disability So reading all the books have no sense to me I tried and I took the test and failed before.then I find out your great video with a great illustration that just embedded in my memory everything I need to know. I was sitting days and night watching every video and learning everything you are teaching over there .AS a student pilot I have probably about 390 hours .I had before a Piper Cherokee for 6 years and now I have a piper colt. the only difference is that now I can finish my license. and get bigger stuff (airplanes) not as a student pilot. all thanks to you.so I just wanted to say thank you. and I would like to talk to you about explaining to people with dyslexia, how to get the proper test with FAA disability accommodation for dyslexia so we can have more people with the freedom to fly.

    Thank you for the review. It was very helpful and I found it very accurate, based on my experience. I have used an ANR G2 for 2 years now, but I struggle a little to hear ATC in the very congested Houston environment when I am using flight following or landing at class D. That being said, I usually fly at a non-towered field and I have had no issues there and have logged more than 200 hours with this set. Great videos!

    I took a gamble and bought a headset on Amazon from a company called "U Fly Quiet". I was very pleasantly surprised! The noise canceling was good (not great, but good), and it came with accessories to connect to other devices. Back when I bought it Bluetooth was included, but the newer versions don't. :-/ I was gifted a set of used Bose A20s from a family member who was in the Air Force. There is absolutely no comparing the two as far as build quality, the Bose wins hands down. However, while actually using the UFQ headset in flight I'm never "missed" the A20s. All that said, I can't speak to support as I haven't had to use it. I'm fairly certain the Fargos will have better support, at least here in the States.

    Hey Josh! This is sorta unrelated to this video, I was wondering however if you plan on doing an instrument ground course on this channel too? I recently began my flight training and ground studies for my instrument rating and am finding it to be a lot. You have such an awesome way of explaining the materials you cover that I believe that you're largely to thank for the PPL that I have today. Thanks again!

    Hi Josh. You have a stellar channel; you've been very helpful on my journey to Private Pilot. I'm not sure where you're based now, but I fly out of KGCM if you're still in NE OK. I've taken the written, have all the hours logged, and have my check-ride endorsement from my instructor. Now, I need a DPE. We're having trouble getting any to respond back, much less give me a schedule. I was wondering if you know any in NE OK (near H04 or KGCM) that you could recommend? I appreciate any assistance you might offer.

      @FreePilotTraining  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      J Henry, thank you so much for the Super Thanks! I moved up to Alaska back in October. If I was still around, I’d try to connect with you. As far as DPEs go, I like to use Seth Lake from VSL Aviation in Clarksville Arkansas. He’s a little ways from you, but if you can fly with your instructor over there, he’d be good. I also like Jennifer Wise out of Tulsa who gave me my ppl in 2015. You can find her and all the DPEs in your area on this site here: designee.faa.gov/#/designeeLocator
      Good luck on that checkride!
