So, please think before you make fun of other engines, the 1.0s are not being used to their full potentials in the 2.0 cars, if it was, then the result would've been completely different! I have one question about the 1.5TSI in Slavia. Until 2000 rpm( not considering turbo lag), is the performance of the 1.5 the same as the 1.5 in the CIty or is the City better?
1L TSI is a very potent engine when its in right state of tune.In this race its not the fault of the engine but the fact that its tuned towards mileage and comfort specially for the newer VW 2.0 cars.Lets do this race again but this time against my Vento TSI just to see the other face of this 1L TSI and its true potential😉😉

I own a Honda City 3rd Gen from 2013 and the power and punch the VTEC engine produces is incomparable. I should admit though the car is not for someone looking for a mileage. Still drives like new. I drove the 5th Gen city and didn't like the power aspect of it. The service centre guy told me not to buy the new 5th Gen city as it doesn't match up to its legacy.

It's just that VW completely de-performanced the 1.0TSIs of Slavia/Virtus/Taigun/Kushaq so that they can offer a sportier 1.5 engine! If the 1.0TSI's performance was as the same as Polos and Ventos, then no one would buy their 1.5TSIs. But there is no arguing about the fact that 1.5 i-VTEC is a gem of NA engines!

Where No doubt 1.0 tsi which was there in polo was very aggressive and turbo engine always have edge in terms of intial torque and power delivery
But No one haven't seen the long term experience of turbo engines so we have to see how they will perform in long term
