Finally somebody honestly said it. This is exactly what I wanted to know, because no other review mentions dirt getting stuck and it was kinda hard to believe it doesn't.
Dude do you realize that that thing is just 2 used brake rotors and pipe for the tines. This is sold for $400 for something that cost $50. That's a rip off.
Oh I am totally aware. I think to be fair it probably costs somewhere near 70-100 for material and maybe another 100 for labor. Some material like drill bits, electricity to power the bits etc. All that overhead gets rolled into the price. For a larger corporation or a shop in china its nothing, for a guy in his garage its likely more. I think him charging about 200 for a device like this again in its proprietary stage would be fair, 400 is totally a rip off. I totally agree with you though that considering its construction, it is hard to justify a price greater than 100 dollars no matter how much labor and overhead we try to be fair about. There is 100% room for improvement here.
@@diytwoincollege7079 thats right, price went up to $500, unreal. I have to brake rotors in my garage right now I'm going to turn into this, havent figured out how to do the handle bars and tines though. soil conditions do affect how it rolls, you want to water thoroughly if its really dry out the day before.
Yeah, I looked and he wanted $499 for them now. I have some old disc brakes sitting around so I will make my own with some electric conduit and my grinder. Save myself $500
Curious to see the rollaerator with the newer tines that the Ryann aerators use. Can’t wait for the update video. I also wonder if it’s more efficient if you used the rollaertor as a single row tines (with the new tones) where you have the tines between the two disk? Just a thought maybe.
Great updates with the double row action! Thanks for following up with the single row, will watch it soon as you release the video. There’s a couple videos out there on how to make one yourself, wondering how you would create yours for efficiency pulling out cores and ease of use.
Good review, I've been tossing around the idea of either purchasing this, or fabricating my own. I had noticed the tines and was curious as too what type of steel they used. One concept I didnt even think about was the tines having the cut outs. Thank you for posting, i am curious how the new tines functioned for you?
The newer tines do work. In fact because they are curved it's significantly easier to push. But the overall design of the handle is still an issue. It's not stiff enough it needs reinforcement. Air filled tires and a mechanism for lifting and lowering the tines would be another thing that would be perfect. I regard to the tines they need to be lubricated with something, I just purchased some fluid film and will upload the final video to give an accurate assessment
I’m happy with mine, yes it’s pricey but I rent it out to my neighbors and I’m already recuperating my investment of $400. My lawn never looked better and it beats renting from Home Depot. This product it’s not perfect but it dose the job.
Yeah, it's a car rotor. My bet is the guy who sells this made a deal with some used recycle place to buy the rotors for cheap. Even the tines in this are cheaply made.
I can get a set of 4 rotors for a truck with brake pads and equipment clips for about 200 bucks and utilizing fedex ground I can get that shipped from hawaii to new york for about 17 bucks on average. the tines that came with it arent even hollow core tines.. its a scam. and honestly if u go on the amick website they are selling it for about 250 now.
i have the same unit and yes indeed the tines are total b.s. (a piece of cut conduit) the pics of the original unit had machined tines so this was a rip... the concept of this is great however u just need a real tine that is mounted to the inside of the rotors, but that is not possible to fit it as such. i also had to use them just on one side so the weight of the unit would work in my favor. also after using it only 3 times, the accel is hollowing out the handle bar frame where it attatches so before long, it will totaly need to be redone. please someone use the same concept and make a better one and pass on this one.
What a rip. You have an electrical conduit for a handle and tines .Cost less than 20 bucks. Two automobile rotors, probably China made. Les than 75 bucks. Misc hardware. Les than 20 bucks. About a hour labor bending conduit drilling holes and cutting tines.should be marketed for less than 250 ,275 max
Yea it sucks, but I paid for what I would consider a prototype product. Hopefully in the future when he upscales his business he will have a polished product for 1/5th the price

We want to support people in America, yes, but under the condition that they are selling quality products!

No way im paying 400 it can be made for much less.

$79 wheel for a Green SCOTT 🇨🇦 and they build aeration wheels as well makes there own TINES.
Using those new tines is brilliant.
What is the point of aerating with 2 rows of times? Are you trying to see how long it takes to aerify, why even buy it to begin with.

Thats a very good idea to start with

I'm no engineer, but it legit looks like 2 rotors with some poles attached to it. Am I seeing this wrong?
I too am not an engineer.. but we both are honest - its 2 rotors attached to a pole brother, its junk
Yeah, it's a car rotor. My bet is the guy who sells this made a deal with some used recycle place to buy the rotors for cheap. Even the tines in this are cheaply made.
How’s it work w the new tines
Significantly better. Will post update video soon
FYI as of 04/15/24 price is $499 totally ripped off of 2 rotors and some tines.
Even if it works, it's a diy level and should be a cheap leisure time built.
Mine works great same company made mine. Mine looks nothing like yours
That’s electrical conduit
Also this is the standard practice of every American company. That's why people buy China stuff.
This is what I find hilarious, your car has rotors on it and probably needs changing. By making your car better, you could also get a free aerator.
How about this. Next time I change my brakes I'll make a video of how to make one lol. I am due for brakes this summer anyway
You also need to pay for the cost to ship such weight.

Tell me it’s not brake rotors slapped together with some bolts 😂
Brother, if I told you it wasnt.. I'd be lying. You forgot the pieces of 2x4 common boards cut into squares. Its junk.
Now it's $499...

You’re not helping the business you are just being ripped off. That’s life.
Whoever sold that to you is definitely laughing as your ass.

They're $500 now. Total rip off,
I can not believe people actually pay money for these. Brake rotors, conduit and miscellaneous hardware.
The jokes on you when you pay $400 for that cheaply made POS made with junk brake rotors
Yea it sucks, but I paid for what I would consider a prototype product. Hopefully in the future when he upscales his business he will have a polished product for 1/5th the price
Looks very home made. Amateur product.
you are not incorrect, it is. apparently they have a v2. I will not be purchasing.
