    Hi. Are the fabric requirements the same for the lining fabric? Thanks ❤

    Hihi! I am about to finish up a lined ilford I'm making for a gift. I wanted to be able to work on the placket with the sleeve nearly flat, so when I was assembling the main pieces, I just sewed down the sleeves about 1/2 way. That gave a little more room when doing the plackets, and I was able to go back and close up the sleeves pretty easily (I did the lining with the sleeve right side out, then flipped the sleeve inside out to do the main fabric sleeve). It's definitely not perfect, but pretty good!

    What if I applied the placket to the sleeve+lining before sewing the long seams?

    I was literally just looking online for the differences between the ilford jacket and another longer coat I want to make.

    Thank you so much for this video (and the previous step-by-step for the ilford). I’m planning on making a patchwork version so definitely wanted to add a lining and this video has been a life saver! I was wondering if a size XL sleeve would work with the rest of the pattern being size L? I have big biceps plus thick bulky fabric. I usually don’t do different sizes on separate pattern pieces. I usually go for a full bicep adjustment, but I’m not too sure how I would do this with the placket sleeve. Any sleeve advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you 😊

      Hello! Yes, you'll need to adjust the matching points but the pattern piece will fit :)

    Fantastic . Just the tutorial I’ve needed. I’m not good at visualising things like this . Thanks 😀

    Is there no concern about unraveling if you are using a woven? I am nervous to just cut my seam allowances down so small. Thank you for this helpful sew along!

      Generally its okay to not finish seams if you are fully lining your garment, but if you are using a fabric that is super unravelly you could finish the seams!

    Loved your tutorial, and the original ones. I am so excited to make this. May I ask, what fabric did you use for the lining? It’s beautiful!

    Should you still fully interface as normal if you are lining?

    • @FridayPatternCompany
      @FridayPatternCompany  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would. Unless you are working with really heavy fabric, then you can omit it :)

    What are your thought’s on lining the body and not the sleeves?

    • @FridayPatternCompany
      @FridayPatternCompany  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is doable! You would just need to sort out finishing the underarms. I believe Paige made one that just had a lined body: th-cam.com/video/PvGRabVkjCE/w-d-xo.html

    I think it would be easier to maybe half line the sleeves?

    • @FridayPatternCompany
      @FridayPatternCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could do that! You could also just not line the sleeves if you want.
