It’s like my mom telling me about what’s going on in my hometown ... “you remember such and such right? What? You don’t? But you two were in the same hospital when you were born.. you don’t remember being right beside her at your daycare graduation?”
grapes9h5 - I like both actors, but I think Kyle be better suited on his own show because his style of comedy doesn’t fit with SNL’s. Beck is good at both.
PoopyDoopy39 There is such a thing as two people creating a comedy series together. Just look at Key & Peele, their skits are 100x funnier than anything on SNL and they have a massive fanbase.
Jeremy - you really don’t think I’ve never heard of Key & Peele? I know two people can make a show together. I’m saying Beck could do a show with Kyle or SNL, but Kyle’s comedy doesn’t translate to SNL well. I don’t even think Key & Peele are funny, but that’s neither here nor there.
"Do you want to say the thing about your grandpa or whatever?" Kyle and Beck have such good ears for writing. The way they give the first and last names of the girls and assume you know which guy they're talking about based on the first name only. Super subtle. EXACTLY how flatbills talk to each other.
When Bill Hader is trying to "explain art" and completely goes blank before going off on some other random ass shit, it killed me. I love these Inside SoCal sketches so much.
Until I read your comment, I had no idea there were other Inside SoCal sketches. Thank you for succeeding where the algorithm failed. You're doing the Lord's work. 😃
This is quite possibly the best sketch ever written. Everything about it is absolutely perfect in every way, Kyle and beck becoming so famous was a blessing they need their own show, also the other curly headed dude who used to do vids with them
Damn this is four years old and I'm just now seeing this genius sketch. Some of the best sketches seem to get lost in the shuffle of the mainstream sketches they put out. This is a diamond in them.
Especially since pretty much every place that does a san diego style buritto (ie California Buritto with fries) has a name that ends in -bertos. One of those subtle details that show they're mocking something theyre familiar with.
I like how everybody wears a Padre hat. That is how it is in San Diego. At all times, everybody wears a Padre hat. You have your chill Padre hat, your beach Padre hat, your museum going Padre hat and then like your church Padre hat. So you need like four. Four Padre hats should cover all occasions. The same goes for your Vans.
Kyle has his own hilarious comedy style, and skits; and Beck can really play along with Kyle's humor, it would be cool if they both had their own tv show
"It's always sick to see two souls uniting as one." "Let's go to Eric at the Lanwood house." "...or smarter-style people like Michelle Grannis" "Blue. Yellow. Green. Colors in art." "When they first started doing art, it was a lot older..." This might be my all-time favorite SNL sketch.
they nail so cal perfectly. i see these skits and bust up because even the tiniest details they add in are so spot on i can't help i but think of an exact person i grew up with. "lanwood house" lol i was hoping someone would catch that.
"That's not how I sound, sir!" OMFG...my best friend in the Marines was a homie from a rural area of San Diego called Jumul and he talked JUST LIKE THAT. They freakin' nailed this type of dude in the San Diego area.
As a San Diego native, I can confirm that this is 100% accurate. Only things missing were them listening to Sublime, talking about going down to TJ, and talking about local craft beer and breweries.
As a person from San Diego this was this was very accurate and actually surprisingly similar to my high schools bulletin. Y’all even talked about rigo’s
The reason Lorne Michael’s is such a legendary source of growth in the comedy landscape is because he’s willing to take chances on things that are before their time. I’m still so blown away that we got to have 10 years of Kyle & Becks on network television.
@Uppity Sombitch Edit: Ignore everything I say below I understand what you are saying and agree. Same thing really. Other here we never call random people sir or madam unless we are at work. If we were in an antagonising situation like this we most definitely would lose most of our manners. I get what you are saying though, he wasn't trying to be rude to the older guy but at the same time was trying to check him.
I love this new digital shorts. They are something different of what the lonley Island used to do, which I also love, therefor the digital shorts don't live in the shadows of Andy Samberg. Also this so so SNL, this reminds me to Wayne's World.
I live in San Diego, formerly the Pacific Beach section.. This is scary accurate! Hilarious. One of the best SNL externals I've ever seen and enjoyed immensely.
Probably one of the funniest skits in a long long long time. I didn't laugh out loud literally but i got it and i honestly thought it was funny. They got that high school kinda way of doing interviews and anchoring down perfectly. Like very inexperienced behind the camera lmao.
Here again you can see how this works out even better as they are really friends in rl and know each other for a long time. And I would love to see a show with both of them
"Blue. Yellow. Green. Colors in art."
Definitely the deepest line of the whole skit
The way he said blue I LOST IT
Yeah, that line was pimp
"but how baller can art be? i'm here at a f*ckin museum to find out"
It was very gangster for him to like, drop that bar
The deepest voice in the whole sketch
I love when they name drop random people like you should know who they are
Matt Newell got Vicodin, and anyone can get in on that.
Smart people like Michelle Grannis
It’s like my mom telling me about what’s going on in my hometown ... “you remember such and such right? What? You don’t? But you two were in the same hospital when you were born.. you don’t remember being right beside her at your daycare graduation?”

thats why call them by their first and last name. so you WILL KNOW who they are.
this is my favorite lesser-known Bill Hader role
Mine as well
It was like his role in that one movie. You know the one about the uhhh. You see like I play madden, so.......
Hey thanks man
Becks reaction to him was gold
Never seen anyone run out of words so perfectly 😂
I kinda wish Kyle and Beck just had their own show on Comedy Central or something. GoodNeighbor TV.

PoopyPoopy39 Fuck key and peele. Watch the chappelle show. That's real sketch comedy they just lived in daves shadow.
YES and bring Nick back along for the ride
Few things can prepare you for Bill Hader in a baseball cap saying “how baller is art”
I love how he appreciates art for the first time and it breaks his brain
That might have been the vicodin
"So like...I play Madden..."
ahahahahaha
"Do you want to say the thing about your grandpa or whatever?"
Kyle and Beck have such good ears for writing. The way they give the first and last names of the girls and assume you know which guy they're talking about based on the first name only. Super subtle. EXACTLY how flatbills talk to each other.
hahahaha!
LMAO! flatbills! Terrible, horrible flatbills!
Fuckin Bros and brohos
I think you're reading too much into it. They use full names for guys, too. "Ryan Templeton got married this weekend." "Matt Newall got Vicodin."
These are surfer burnouts. Bros are dirtbike, ATV and boat enthusiasts.
When Bill Hader is trying to "explain art" and completely goes blank before going off on some other random ass shit, it killed me.

@@waltonsimons12 even Socal quick-hits which are done before Kyle was on SNL

This is quite possibly the best sketch ever written. Everything about it is absolutely perfect in every way, Kyle and beck becoming so famous was a blessing they need their own show, also the other curly headed dude who used to do vids with them
Nick.
Niiick! Lol
Would love a good neighbor show of some kind with Nick on board.
Quit huffing the farts of 2 talentless twats. Bruh.
Mr Happy I feel bad for you if you don’t find beck and Kyle funny
"Which looks good on her small head" was delivered so perfectly

Beck “what you’re talking about” cracks me up every time
“That’s not how I sound sir” while bucking up 😂
😂😂😂

I love how every single dude character in this sketch is wearing a snapback
And they're all San Diego Padres snapbacks
just like im looking out my window or walking down the street. scary
Naw a couple of them copped the fitted though... Pretty gangster
Hurley merch as well
