Seconding Lorelei. I remember it being on tap at Bermondsey Bottle Shop (RIP) and just being one of those flavour experiences that sticks with you. One of my all time favourites.
Thanks for also covering the designer in this doc. It’s not done often enough in this and other craft industries and as a designer for beer and cannabis myself, it’s appreciated!
Great that also the art work of Omnipollo is presented. Off topic: I worked with Karl's father, a very gifted graphic designer, in the 1980:ies with a magazine covering medical technology. Great that design also is important for craft beer. Without Karl's graphic ideas I think Omnipollo hadn't reached its iconic identity so fast.
Brad's comment about the beer reflecting the artwork is so true when it comes to these guys. They make statement beer. It's fun, it's exciting, it's trailblazing and it's fucking exciting. Great video. So glad you finally made it out of the UK to bring us this!
@The Craft Beer Channel, Fantastic, in-depth look into one of the most enigmatic breweries in the world! I am simply envious beyond belief that you got to visit that incredible installation. Many additional thanks to Brad for being able to interview masterful artist, Chris! Unfortunately, everything they have released in The States has been done (mostly, if not all) via contract brewing. Even then, most of their hoppy offerings are 3-6+ months fresh when they hit (warm shelves)...and they are expensive! I did, however, grab a 4-pack (12oz) cans of Noa Pecan Mud Cake Stout (no date code). I found it tasted VERY artificial which often comes by using extracts/flavorings. I liked the first can, but finishing the 4-pack was an absolute chore. If Omnipollo continues to produce this beer at their own facility, I would enjoy sampling it again and figure out whether what I received was in fact a frenzy of extracts/flavorings that resulted from contracting it out. 🤔 Cheers to many more episodes! Brent
Only 35 minutes?! Damn, I want the other 3 hours of you geeking around the brewery!! So nice to see you travelling again and I have fond memories of your live session with Omnipollo giving you a video guided tour of the church. But anyways, lovely video about the talented people from Omnipollo. You made me wanting to travel to Stockholm even more (it's just a 6h ride from Copenhagen too) and try their pilsners - only tried their stouts so far. And lets all appreciate the smile on Jonnys face at 9:06. Amen!
What a great in depth look at the brewery and very good questions on the insight behind the beers and design! Amazing content overall gents, also Brad's shirt makes me happy
Wow, what a fantastic insight into the brewery, and a thoroughly enjoyable watch. I've been aware of Omnipollo for so many years as a fan of stouts so it's pretty amazing to see behind the very recognisable bottles / branding that feel so familiar. Cracking behind the scenes, it's really made me want to start up my own branch of international beer tourism!
I'd always considered Evil Twin one of, if not the Grandfather of Pastry with Biscotti and Doughnut Break but certainly now believe Omnipollo deserves the mention. What a truly beautiful facility. Am really fortunate we get them shipped into NYC here and there. Cheers!
I had never heard of Omnipollo before this and I have been looking for some good pastry stouts. I was surprised to find out that my local beer shop in San Diego features so many of their beers. I can’t wait to pick a couple up the next time I run out of beer.
Loved this episode! From everything I've read or seem from Henok and Carl they seems like super chill guys, that really love what they're doing. As Swede I've been following a lot of Omnipollos releases at the Systembolaget(Swedens monopoly store for alcohol over 3,5% ABV) and they do bring out some real bangers from time to time! for example I loved the DDH Fatamorgana as the original is still a beer I grab from time to time, really took me back.
Yellow Belly is probably my favorite stout from them. I fondly remember discovering Omnipollo at the Craft Beer Helsinki festival in 2018, me and my mate arrived quite early on the day when it hadn't been open for long. After tasting a few sessionable beers we noticed the Omnipollo stand which always had a line even though there wasn't much people on the festival yet. We went over there and were really surprised to discover that they served some imperial stout with soft ice as the "head". Ended up tasting most of their beers and several of them ran out pretty quickly after more people joined the festival. From that occasion I remember really loving their Fatamorgana imperial IPA.
Thanks for this video. I have had only a few Omnipollo due to me residing on the west coast of the USA> Pastry stouts were all very good. Have not had their other styles yet. Looking forward to a visit one day.
So glad to have You visit one of our amazing craft breweries! If You ever visit Sweden again you should definitely come to Gothenburg on the west coast! We’ve got some amazing places and breweries for you to enjoy🍻
I lived in Stockholm for 1.5 years. Omnipollo is the only thing I miss about living there. The most incredible beers and unique flavours I've ever experienced.
Oh boy, what an amazing video! All I want now is just buying a ticket to Sweden. Thanks for the incredible content guys. Omnipollo dudes are awesome. Btw, I am always amazed how people from Sweden knows english so well.
I'm going to the church on friday!😍 What a treat you brought out this video today! I remember your Omnipollo liveshow from 2021, when I drank the beers from the lineup I found here in Norway, in a torn down apartment with the new flat-packed kitchen as my table! Thanks again! 🙌🙌🙌
If you get a chance to go to Omnipollos Hatt (or perhaps any of the Omnipollo locations), you might suspect that a beer topped with frozen beer foam is good. Well, it absolutely is.
This was an amaizing video. Beening from sthlm and a homebrewer, following your channal for some years ive been wishing for a "Swedish" One. This was brilliant
Well that's great to see a homebrewer follow his dream to build a brand and brewery like that.. its pure passion and the want for something 'different ' 👍 I've never had a Omnipollo beer here in NZ but in stouts I like, coffee, lactose, vanilla, chilli, cocoa, orange.. the list is endless.. cheers Fellas thanks for sharing, Mike 🍻🍻
My favourite Omnipollo Imperial Stout! That's a tough question as Omnipollo have made some great ones in the past. Lorelei Coconut Maple Toast is a cracking one. But, Noa Pecan Mud Cake gets the big slap on the back from me. Man at 11% it's big, it's thick and extremely decadent. A great video! Love the fact you visited their brewery. I'd be absolutely star struck meeting Henok and Karl.
Look forward to your videos each week need to find where to source all the beers I have in my ever expanding "to do" list look forward to the bubble on Friday love n beer 🍺
Really love this brewery. It is beautiful. I had the pleasure to drink some bottles of the collab brew of Omnipollo and Camba Bavaria (the brewery connected to BrauKon). It was called "Der schwedische Lehrling" (the swedish apprentice) which shows also how much respect there is for german brewing.
Should say enough about who they are by turning a church into a brewery. I don’t like all their beers but they are innovative for sure and pushing the boundaries of what beer can be.
Good video, really interesting. I'd heard of Omnipollo, but haven't yet got around to giving them a go. Think I need to get stuff ordered in after seeing that 🍻
Wooooo man what a video of two truly beer icons!!! On my next Omnipollo review video I will recommend and link your video so that anyone can learn and enjoy Hanok and Karl. Gracias
Nicely done. I think I'm in that camp of someone who has dismissed "Omnimollo" but watching well considered and well made videos like this helps to change a person's mind. I like Henok, I've heard him talk before and he seems a really articulate and intellectual guy. The art work and design has always been stellar and that's certainly on display in that new brewery they've made. Looks like I'll come back. Now I'm off to the bank to speak to them about taking out a small loan to help me pay for their beers. Oh, and Careme is pretty bangin
A 18° P to 20° P end gravity beer?! Most of my homebrews started at that point or lower... I always thought their pastry stouts were a bit much for me, but I loved their saison Potlatch. Might reconsider after this video, would their Noa Pecan Mudcake be a good one, to get back on this track?
Been a huge fan of Omnimollo since I first tasted Yellow Belly back in 2017. I’ve been drunkenly getting my Ms and Ps mixed up ever since. Pushed things to extremes and improved what beer can be for me. I now try anything I see irrespective of what’s in it. Couldn’t care less about the adjuncts. All I care about is if its bloody lush or not, and rarely do Omnipollo disappoint. For me (in this case), bigger is better.
Great video! Did you manage to visit any other breweries while on Stockholm? Sthlm brewing is doing some fantastic things with sours and spontaneous beers. Gothenburg is a must visit for beer geeks as well!
Omnimolo! haha wow its credible you guys met Henook and Carl! i really wish i could do the same for my spanish speaking followers. cheers from Mexico. i feel thirsty after watching your video!
I love how every one calls it omnipoLo, myself included for a long time, but then you hear the owner call it omnipoLLo (po-jo) and realize the name comes from the Spanish word for chicken
18 to 20 Plato finishing gravity? That's where my Doppelbock recipe starts! I'm really curious if consumers understand how many calories are in a beer like that. For a final gravity of 15.5% ABV, the starting gravity would have to be 42.5 Plato (1.1921) and there would be 668 calories per 12oz. For reference, the average stick of butter has about 800 calories in it.
It’s hard to pick a favourite, but I choose Lorelei Barrel Aged Extra Maple. An extra dimension of pastry, more like a liquid chocolate praline. The normal Lorelei is good too.
Fantastic video, thanks for sharing it with the world guys! Also hope you enjoyed my home town of Stockholm. I got increasingly thirsty over the last 30 odd minutes for some reason, may have to place an order for all of the Omnipollo beers now... or just rock over to the church ;) Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next. Cheers! /Fred
I agree on Imperial stouts being the easier styles to brew at home buy it may be because of my water haha it's really hard water so it works amazing for dark styles, also I may or may not be obsessed with brewing big dark beers 😂
ALRIGHT BEER GEEKS! Tell us your favourite Omnipollo Imperial Stout, because we will be BREWING one in just a few weeks...
Lorelei
Seconding Lorelei. I remember it being on tap at Bermondsey Bottle Shop (RIP) and just being one of those flavour experiences that sticks with you. One of my all time favourites.
@@squees7215 yeah Lorelei is my favorite Imperial Stout. New batch releasing on Friday and I will be buying several bottles.
Yellow Belly / Andromeda
NOA is an absolute classic and would be interested to see your guy's take on it!
Thanks for also covering the designer in this doc. It’s not done often enough in this and other craft industries and as a designer for beer and cannabis myself, it’s appreciated!
"there's no shortcuts here" ...loved that comment. Killer effort given at the church! 🍻🔥💯

Ya they are distributed by 12 percent (same that does evil twin and abomination)
tavour carries their beer as well.
Excellent video, beautiful brewery, people and beers.
Wicked video super awesome to see the inside of Omnipollo and meet the minds behind all the great beers they make
Loved this episode! From everything I've read or seem from Henok and Carl they seems like super chill guys, that really love what they're doing.

Thank you for this tour and talk. Lovely place to brew in and love how they are playing with technique and ingredients.

Not a huge fan of the "pastry" beers but their Nebuchadnezzar is the best IPA I've ever had (and I''ve had more than a few). LOVE IT!
Incredible brewery. Fantastic beers. Great video. I have to go to the Church of Omnipollo one day!

Welcome back Beer-umentary once again, how we missed you! BAFTA TV Award worthy in my opinion.
Incredible episode mates, love your channel and your Christmas episodes had been my favorite but I think this episode was your best yet. Well done.
Finally Travel conten again! You're doing such a great job! Thank you guys
I’m always amazed when I see their social media, definitely on my bucket list
Wonderful vid guys. Fell in love with Omnipollo at the Bishops arms in Malmo
Their Instagram posts make me so thirsty! Now back to watching the rest of the video. Cheers guys!
I lived in Stockholm for 1.5 years. Omnipollo is the only thing I miss about living there. The most incredible beers and unique flavours I've ever experienced.
Only Omnipollo we have gotten here in Eastern Canada has been Zodiak IPA, and based on my comments on untappd from 3yrs ago, it was fantastic!
This is the really Fantastic documentary. Keep up the good work
Glad to see Omnipollo! I live with in walking distance so I have been there a few times. Awesome place!
It's perfect that they brew in a church because their beers are adorable

just tried them out for the first time with their Bianca Ale. blew me away! I Gotta dive into more of these
To call them pioneers is an understatement.

Noa is aged in Lagavulin(afaik?) barrels, so if you have a specific hatred of Speyside Scotch, steer clear. Otherwise, it's awesome.
This guy looks Habesha. Nice to see some diversity in the industry!! Haven't tried the beer but will try to find in Switzerland!!

The background music is pretty ironic being that a case of omnipollo in the states runs about $200+ from the distributor lol. Great sours though!

Sadly not. It was a whirlwind trip but we will 100% be back for a longer trip and some more breweries.
@@TheCraftBeerChannel sounds like a good idea. Sweden's brewing culture has expanded fantastically!

We have a video coming up on what a pastry beer is and how to make one soon!

20 plato for the final gravity... Good lord. That's the gravity of a classic imperial stout before fermentation ahahah
If i could drink the Bianca series for the rest of my life i'd be happy.

love this guys, one of my favorite breweries, always pushing the boat out and producing eclectic experiences!!

You pour hard to fill the glass with foam, then slowly top up as it settles. Creates a really dense foam.
