Excellent video, thanks for making and posting! You mentioned the advantage of the 5th line when self-landing. I would be interested to learn more about that technique as well. Thanks again!
Thanks Sean O, Here is a link to help you better understand the 5th line self landing procedure. Basically it is similar to how you would do a 4 line, only you pull in the 5th line rather than the upper centerline. th-cam.com/video/K5XvVmf1pas/w-d-xo.html
Still, the wiring of the 5th line is of particular interest, it must be pulled separately to the checkin loop, or it goes into a knot with two front slings, but then how to insert it with a ring into the checkin loop and attach the safety leash to it? According to the idea of the 5th line should "break" the front balloon in the middle, making an emergency landing of the kite, pulling all 3 lines at once with the 5th line loses the sense of breaking the balloon.
Thank you for asking, Jak. 🤙🏽 On a traditional 5th line kite and bar setup, the 5th line runs from the bar to the center of the kite's leading edge, right in the middle. This makes for easy lightwind relaunch and for safe, high winds self-landing as well. -Aaron
hey guys just a quick question sometimes when im trying to relaunch my kite after an unhooked trick the 5th line gets wrapped around my bar. what am i doing wrong?

Perfect, that video's exactly what I was looking for.

Same on 4 lines if you pull both center lines right ?

Anna, where are you leashing in for unhooking? Does the kite flag out when you let go of the bar?
i have it on suicide mode. no it doesnt.
