Well there we are. Sang there many years ago; even on this. A very important contribution within the Church and the U.K., generally. May God bless them all!
As someone who grew up in Newcastle New South Wales, with a superb cathedral and choir also, I found this Evensong superb. Apart from anything else, it includes my very favourite anthem. Surely, Choral Evensong is, with the Westminster system of parliament and cream tea, one of England's greatest gifts to the world. Libby Jones, Sydney NSW
Lovely service. The only thing that didn't impress me much were the two chants (not the singing, but the choice.) The Wood in D Nunc is a gem isn't it? It's while since I heard it. As for the Te Deum - what a good tuba stop they had! And great vocal balance with just the right sort of steely - and powerful! - trebles not afraid to sing out, but who can also control things to a softer legato when needed. What an absolute joy! (And as it isn't in the description, if anyone is interested and didn't know, the voluntary was Whitlock's Fanfare - needs a good tuba, which is probably why it was chosen!)

Richly sung Evensong, this is exquisite.
