@@WhereWeWild They fit the small screws on baitcasters perfectly I’ve never had a screw strip and will save you lots of time. Tackle Advisors turned me on to them and it’s worth every cent Wera 3355 PZ 0x60. I think Amazon has them. You’ll thank me later
Hi I have an slx dc 151 hg but the thumb release disengages halfway when I turn the lever.. is that normal
Hmmm well I haven’t used or worked on a dc, but I’d think besides the brakes it would basically be the same as this reel. Most engagement/ disengagement issues are because the ratchet isn’t placed back on flush when someone puts the reel back together as shown at 31:28 in this video, so definitely check that first. 🤙🏽
@@WhereWeWildI’ve checked the gear that hits the reset lever of the thumb button it hits it just doesn’t throw it back fully open
@@dhalif So it was sitting down and flush with the square keyed pattern huh? Hmm that’s usually the issue. Well I guess just have to keep checking things and play with that mechanism with the reel open to maybe spot where it’s going wrong. Make sure it’s all super clean and no dirt or anything is stopping it, grease and oil it all up, inspect all the parts to make sure nothing is broken, make sure everything is in the exact right place and sitting flush like the roller clutch inner tube as well that’s also keyed into the top of that main gear. Could be the spring maybe. You should be able to spot the issue by just eliminating possibilities one by one, it’s a pain in the butt sometimes haha but you always end up finding the problem.

Not sure what you’re saying man. 🤔 Do you mean the little pin that makes the drag star click? Regardless, any part you lose you can go to the schematic link in the video description and order a replacement if they have it available.
I stripped a screw🤦♂️ do you know part # by any chance? Its one of the short ones that is one of the first ones u removed from the side
Ahhh that sucks man I’m sorry. Gotta be so careful, and starting with a flathead helps bust em loose. They’re so fragile it’s crazy. 🤦🏻♂️ There is a link in the description for parts and the schematic. Sometimes they sell out of those screws cause it happens so much, so you can always try eBay (to compare prices also) once you find the exact part number you need. 🤙🏽

the little thing holding the bearing for the tension knob flew off is it neccessary?
Idk for sure haha but it’s in there for a reason ya know, I would replace it if it were me. Especially since that part is only 99 cents on the parts site. Part number BNT5319. fishshop.shimano.com/collections/slxxt151
@@WhereWeWild thanks, now that I fully built it, it does not want to reel in guess im going to have to take it apart again.
Nevermind turned my drag up and it works fine now. I would buy the little piece but it cost 8$ since shipping is 7 so I'm probably going to just find another baitcaster and take it from that one. Not having the little thing inside makes it so you can't change the tension so basically it is unusable. Also thanks for the great video only and best I have seen on taking apart a SLX

The tiny pin and spring that makes your drag click??? 😳 Those are easy to lose! If you want your drag to click yes it’s necessary, but that’s up to you man. It’s your reel. If it were me I would absolutely replace any missing part because it would drive me nuts knowing it’s not complete and working the way it should be. 😂 There is a link in the description for parts of you need it. Those parts should be like 1$ each plus shipping. 🤙🏽
