In the novel, Guangzhi and Guangmou are two apprentices of the Elder Jinchi, they abetted the Elder to burn Tang Seng (Sun Wukong's Master) to death in his sleep, because the Elder was extremely greedy and wanted to take possess of Tang Seng's kasaya. The Elder had been collecting beautiful kasayas for many years, yet as he saw the one Tang Seng had, he knew he must have it. But because Sun Wukong secretly protected his master by covering him in a fire-repelling cage that he borrowed from other deities, the fire ended up burning the whole Guanyin Temple down, and the Elder Jinchi, hopeless and frustrated, hit himself against the wall and died. That kasaya then was stolen by the Black Bear Guai, who was also in connection with the Elder.
And why Guangzhi uses a fire blade while Guangmou uses a fan? In Chinese there is a word "煽风点火”, which can be translated into "fan the flames", it means to make a tense situation worse or foster someone's jealousy/hatred against another. Fan and flame, that's what the two monks uses as weapons, and exactly what they did in the JTTW: Fostering the greed of Elder Jinchi.
So the secret boss was the Elder who wanted to steal the kasaya, and the bear was possessed by the greed of Jinchi and the Celestial Court to make him want to keep the Relic for himself? (At least in the game not so much in JTTW)

Guanyin ( the right hand of Buddha ) gave Tang Sanzang the Golden Headband to keep Wukong in check ( because Tang Sanzang was only a mere weakling mortal ). By chanting the right words, the Headband will tighten around Wukong's forehead, giving him excruciating headache ( that's what happened in the video - maybe someone was reading the chant when Wukong turns into a bird - could be Buddha or Guanyin, i don't know ). After 17 YEARS of walking ON FOOT, defeating hundreds of monsters, they reached the West Heaven and acquired the Scriptures of Buddha. The final dialogue(25:53) expresses a concept rooted in Eastern philosophy. The black bear asks Guanyin Bodhisattva why a monk needs to wear the kasaya. Guanyin Bodhisattva replies that only by wearing the kasaya can a monk proclaim to the world that he is a practitioner. This response invites contemplation: as a practitioner, is one’s practice truly internal, or is it merely external? Extending this to other cultures, when you follow your faith, are you pursuing the essence of the faith itself, or are you simply trying to show others that you are a follower? If you are truly following your heart, why care about how others perceive you? You need to ask yourself what you are truly seeking. This is why Elder Jinchi, despite living for a hundred years, was never able to attain enlightenment. Yes, this is a story about greed, but is it just about greed?
Jev not to spoil anything but completing side quests are a major part of the story in later chapters. And lore wise just elevates the story to next level. That being said, please try to 100% a chapter before heading into the next. The game is so much more enjoyable that way. Love your videos❤
Hi Jev. Just a couple of tips for using Guangzhi (the wolf transformation). He’s much more powerful if you use auto more to build up his stack, and then he has two ults once the meters are filled. Don’t use the heavy/dash attack too much as it depletes the energy(time you have left) whereas auto (light attack) does not and builds up the meter. The heavy attack super high damage and cool animation. Super satisfying to use. You can also put more points into it to use it longer. I can pull off two, even three ults with it
A kasaya indicates the rankings of one’s practice as a Buddhist. Like armors for the soldiers. The higher the ranking, the nicer the kasaya. Younger/ newer/ lesser ranked monks don’t get to have kasaya. TangSeng’s kasaya was given by the Emperor of Tang, it was bejeweled with thousands of precious stones, diamonds and all. It was given to TangSeng to honor his purity and his determination for this treacherous journey. It is because he cut the ties with the society, his emotions and his impure thoughts that he was given that. It represented his high achievements in Buddhist practice. In the original book, the monks admired his kasaya very much, and wanted to keep it for himself, so they conspired to kill TangSeng. The black bear in the original book also were practicing Buddhist/ immorality, he wants to achieve higher mind, and he also admired the Kasaya because of that. Hence he stole it after the temple was burnt. Both the bear and the monk wanted to use the kasaya to show how good their practice was, to show off that they’ve cut the ties, including lust... however, the act of being so entrenched by the idea of the kasaya and what it represent is completely the opposite of what “cutting the ties” mean. Hence the sage in the forest scolded their act in the animated story.
Jev incase you didnt know the overall summary of the story is that sun wukong was sealed after his fight at the start of the game and instead of having his whole body and soul imprisoned, he split himself into multiple parts which you are trying to find to revive him. However one of those peices is actually you which is basically wukongs "mind" trying to find the other peices
Journey to the West is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature, written in the 16th century by 吴承恩 (Wu Chengen). The novel is a mix of myth, folklore, and religious elements, and it has had a profound impact on Chinese culture and literature. The story follows the journey of the monk 玄奘法师 (Master Xuanzang) (aka. 唐三藏 Tang Sanzang) from the Tang Dynasty who is tasked with traveling to India to retrieve sacred Buddhist scriptures. It was said that Master Xuanzang’s team had to go through 81 challenges during their journey before they could successfully reach the Buddha. These tribulations are tests of their resolve, faith, and character, designed to purify them and help them achieve spiritual enlightenment.

about the animation at end of this chapter, it tells the story how Elder Jinchi and Black Bear Guai meet each other, they become close friends after that. Then the young monk grows up and become elder Jinchi - the most respectful sage in Guanyin temple, by that time, who has lived for over 200 years, as a human, he is so close to be a budda, which will let him immortal. In addition to Buddhism, Jinchi likes to collect beautiful clothes - "kasaya". Then Tang Seng & Wukong comes to visit Guanyin temple, who are warmly recieved by Jinchi at first, Jinchi shows Tang Seng his beautiful kasayas, Tans Seng says he also has one, which is gifted by Guanyin(one of the four great bodhisattvas, her name means "The goddess of mercy"), this means that his kasaya is a very valuable one. Jinchi fell in love with that kasaya once he saw it, and he knew he must have it. At that moment, Jinchi was consumed by greed, abandoning the beliefs he had upheld throughout his life. Jinchi's two disciples, Guangmou and Guangzhi, attempted to burn Tang Seng to help Jinchi obtain the Kasaya, but accidentally burn Guanyin Temple to dust, killing all the monks inside. In despair, Jinchi killed himself. And after that, Jinchi's close friend Black Bear Guai stole the kasaya, that's an another story, in the end, Tang Seng retrieved the kasaya, and the Black Bear Guai went to Guanyin to cultivate himself. And BMW's story takes place after all the events above. The Black Bear Guai, under delusion, returned to Black Wind Mountain and asked the Whiteclad Noble to resurrect his friend Jinchi using the body of a wolf). However, the price was that Jinchi had to drink the blood of the wolfs of Black Wind Mountain every day. Unwilling to do so, Jinchi committed suicide again (after defeating Jinchi, there is a wolf body on the tree), but his soul transformed into Boss Elder Jinchi. After we defeated the Boss, his soul was finally freed.

some details about wukong : In Journey to the West, the Heavenly Court's suppression of Sun Wukong can indeed be interpreted as a metaphor for the complex relationship between rulers and rebels. This metaphor reflects the theme of the rulers in feudal society suppressing the forces that challenge authority, and also shows the questioning of the nature of power and its legitimacy. Metaphor and Interpretation The symbol of Heaven: In Journey to the West, Heaven represents the ruling class in feudal society and symbolizes supreme power and order. However, this power and order is not absolute justice, but a tool to maintain its own ruling status. Many gods and officials in Heaven showed ruthlessness and even used dishonorable means in the conflict with Sun Wukong, which reflects the true face of the rulers when facing challenges. The symbol of Sun Wukong: Sun Wukong is a symbol of resistance to authority. His unruly and desire for freedom represent resistance to the injustice of feudal society. Sun Wukong dared to challenge the authority of Heaven and proclaimed himself "The Great Sage Equaling Heaven", which was a bold challenge to the existing order. Although his resistance was eventually suppressed, his unyielding spirit in the process is impressive. Suppression and transformation: The suppression of Sun Wukong by the Heavenly Court ended with the appearance of Tathagata Buddha. This process can be seen as a process of controlling and transforming the rebels. The five hundred years under the Five Elements Mountain were a period of punishment and reflection for Sun Wukong, which also reflected the rulers' attempt to eliminate the resistance through punishment and transformation and maintain social order and stability. Manifestation of complex relationships: In the story, the behavior of the Heavenly Court was not entirely just, and Sun Wukong's resistance was not entirely reasonable. This complexity reflects the contradictory relationship between the rulers and the rebels. The author may have expressed his thoughts on the complex relationship between power and resistance, order and freedom, and his criticism of unfair phenomena in social reality through this metaphor. Historical background and influence The Ming Dynasty was a period in Chinese history when the feudal system was relatively mature, but social contradictions were also gradually accumulating. As a literati in the Ming Dynasty, Wu Chengen may not directly express political criticism, but in his works, he reflects his observation and thinking on the power structure in real society through symbols and metaphors. Through the confrontation between Sun Wukong and the Heavenly Court, Journey to the West expresses the eternal theme between individuals and power, freedom and oppression, a theme that has a profound impact on Chinese history and culture. Therefore, these metaphors in Journey to the West are not just simple mythological stories, but also an in-depth exploration of society and human nature. The means by which the Heavenly Court suppressed Sun Wukong to a certain extent reflect the complex and multi-layered strategies adopted by the rulers in maintaining power, while Sun Wukong's resistance represents a strong response to injustice and oppression.
jeff, I don't like to backseat, but please, use your transformation focus point, when you use the light attack enough, it will let you do a big attack when dodging and hitting heavy, and just doing heavy cuts down your damage too much and don't even let you stack fire status, use it only to reach the dude if he's faraway
Jev if you are looking for damage, use the smash stance heavy and it stagger locks and knocks more consistent. The pillar move give you safety vs some moves and it’s an entrap skill mostly for defense. Thrust is poke and spacing. Good luck and may your gamer instincts come full force for max disrespect.
Perfect timing just watched the first video on this game from you and this video just came up on my feed the second I finished your video. Keep it up Jev you are amazing
Use light attacks with the Fire transformation guy to build up "Might" - at max Might you can do a new move set (Dodge -> Heavy) and it'll do a heavy hit that deals massive damage 🫡
Jev if you are looking for damage, use the smash stance heavy and it stagger locks and knocks more consistent. The pillar move give you safety vs some moves and it’s an entrap skill mostly for defense. Thrust is poke and spacing.
From my understanding, the black bear was supposed to test the young sage during his quest. In the holy place where all practitioners gather, cassocks represent their status. The young sage eventually rose above the other monks and reached the top, becoming the Elder Jinchi of Guanyin Temple, the most virtuous and respected monk. In order to achieve buddhahood, he must renounce all temptations. While he could resist the temptation of money and beauty, he couldn't resist the desire towards cassocks. Hundreds of years of practice fell short due to moment of greed by attempting to murder Tang Sanzang over his cassock. Elder Jinchi fell into the evil realm and became a demon himself.
The crashing in unreal games is generally because of the 13th/14tg gen Intel cpus literally frying themselves over time and becoming highly unstable. That's why alot of people crash specifically in the shader compilation step as well.

25:13 Those cloth are not normal cloth, they are kasayas. "Kasaya" means a traditional robe worn by famous monks and nuns. Sometimes the kasaya can be very expensive, embeded with gold or sapphires. That's why the elder Jinchi trying to kill the old owner to get it.
The later bosses get so absurdly tanky it takes 500 hits just to move the health bar 10% Besides that I have been glued to this game. It's so so good. Just got to chapter 3 and I have put atleast 17 hrs in the game already. There's 6 chapters but there's a ton of different areas in each chapter so there not short chapters at all
The idea is that monk “Jinchi” seems like he’s quelled from money and fame, but really it just took a form as Kayasa collecting, he feels like he need to show people how far he came and the state his in, but really it just his pride, and when that one national treasure level Kasaya(from Sanzang) shows up he can’t obtain, he burn the temple down in hope sanzang dies and he can snatch that Kasaya.
When u transform into the fire guy use light attacks as much as u can to charge your focus metre then press circle + triangle to do a big damage attack

Jev there is a secret boss behind the waterfall you just need a secret item found in chapter 2 after fighting an optional boss and breaking a wall with a VERY HEAVY attack. You should do the secret boss fights they’re worth it.
When you use your red tide transformation build up the meter at the bottom right and dodge and heavy while dodging and it will do a ton of damage and you are wasting your time in the form by spamming normal heavy
This is a story from Journey to the West. Elder Jinchi is the abbot of Guanyin Temple and is 270 years old. When Tang Seng's master and his disciples passed by, Elder Jinchi became greedy when he saw Tang Seng's treasured cassock. He first borrowed the cassock from Tang Seng and then was reluctant to return the treasure. , conspired with his apprentices Guangzhi and Guangmou to kill Tang Seng. Guangzhi proposed to kill Tang Monk, but Guangmou was afraid of Sun Wukong's martial arts, so he proposed to set a fire where Tang Monk lived and burn Tang Monk to death. Sun Wukong saw through the treacherous plot and used magic to protect Tang Monk, and another gust of wind blew. So the whole temple was in flames. Black Bear Spirit is a good friend of Elder Jinchi. When he saw a fire in the temple, he came to put out the fire. He accidentally saw the precious cassock in Elder Jinchi's hand and became greedy, so he stole the cassock. The entire temple was burned down the next day, and only Tang Monk's residence was safe. Elder Jinchi saw that the incident was exposed and his cassock was stolen, so he killed him head-on. Sun Wukong asked the black bear spirit for a cassock, but the black bear spirit ran away, so he asked Guanyin for help and subdued the black bear spirit. The black bear spirit became Guanyin's mountain protector and was responsible for guarding Guanyin's dojo.

9:05 "You're a line of code" is truly a Hardcore gamer insult..

After we defeated the Boss, his soul was finally freed.

can't wait when people start to come up with the background stories and the inspirations of all these bosses. as a FPS and RTS guy, it is the first time I actually get interested in a RPG game...my PC can't run it, but I never watched streamers play RPG before, but this one, the graphics and environment is so nice, plus the bosses are just so interesting, I want to see what different designs of bosses are there and what their abilities are, and the best thing is, after you beat them, you can get to transform into them and use their abilities.
17:57 that dodge was cooold
some details about wukong :
In Journey to the West, the Heavenly Court's suppression of Sun Wukong can indeed be interpreted as a metaphor for the complex relationship between rulers and rebels. This metaphor reflects the theme of the rulers in feudal society suppressing the forces that challenge authority, and also shows the questioning of the nature of power and its legitimacy.
Metaphor and Interpretation
The symbol of Heaven: In Journey to the West, Heaven represents the ruling class in feudal society and symbolizes supreme power and order.
Historical background and influence
The Ming Dynasty was a period in Chinese history when the feudal system was relatively mature, but social contradictions were also gradually accumulating.

You can zoom in and it will give you more detail explanation of the story. Or you can just read the Journey to the west and know the story.
Your understanding is perfectly correct! Bro

There is a secret dragon boss behind the waterfall in chapter 1. You just gotta figure out how to stop the water.

Jev there is a secret boss behind the waterfall you just need a secret item found in chapter 2 after fighting an optional boss and breaking a wall with a VERY HEAVY attack. You should do the secret boss fights they’re worth it.

Love the videos, 2 videos per chapter would be easier to digest
When you use your red tide transformation build up the meter at the bottom right and dodge and heavy while dodging and it will do a ton of damage and you are wasting your time in the form by spamming normal heavy
With the new groud you can actually go back to the bosses you’ve defeated earlier and get the spells and will that’s left🙏
