Sleep is probably the most important thing when out on long trips so I agree that this is the "buy once, cry once" option for people who are really into it and go a lot!
I have Hest mattress dually long and pillows with sheets and am just waiting on delivery of the double comforter . Thankyou for this video as it brings Great "Comfort" (lol) knowing how good it is and that you have given it your seal of approval...Cheers to that!
@ it helps quite a bit with cold weather camping. I’ve got a sea to summit 0 degree bag and with this in top, I don’t break out the diesel heater until it’s in the low 20’s or teens.
A double?! Nobody orders a double! Ok, make it a triple. I always hear good things about Hest, but cost is prohibitive in our use case.Maybe the next time REI has a sale for members, I'll get one. Would that be doubling down? 😂
Hest does make nice things and I do have one of their pillows, but I'll be damned if I pay that much for a blanket to keep warm during camping. There are TONS of great products out there to keep you warm and comfortable for much less. I just have to draw the line somewhere. But that's just me, to each their own.
There are a ton of options and budget definitely impacts which one to go with. It's one of those things that may make sense to save on the blanket by going with another option to keep some spend free for other purchases in your set up. Or, if you've got plenty of budget, or simply want the nicest sleep stuff possible, then one could prioritize spend on this and cut elsewhere.
We love all our HEST products! I actually believe you have the 100% recycled polyester fill with no hot melt bonding. You can tell because it's green and the RDS 650 Down Fill is blue. I have a single green and love it! I wanted an alternative to Down Fill and was so happy that HEST offered this option. Not to mention, it's $100 less in the double size Win-Win!
I really like how soft and lightweight it feels compaired to my old North Face mummy sleeping bag.
We have their pillows with the Jade infused pillow cases, seat cushion, 1 Standard Foamy with fitted sheet, and the Dully Platform 50 made specifically for the GFC Camper. Best money spent for a incredibly night of sleep! PRICELESS 😴 😊

Hahahaha! Glad it was helpful. I’m a “firm” believer in the Heat stuff and how comfy it is now.
@ lol
Do you just use a heated blanket with it and how much does it help with cold camping?

Haha, I've heard REI has some pretty great deals from time to time so you might get lucky!
As a Hest owner it’s ridiculously expensive but I get it.
Right?
