- Towering over the Mumbai skyline, the more than 20-year-old building is home to Nitya Tejwani and her husband Kamlesh. The family having relocated from the U.S wanted their beloved kitchen to stand out in a contemporary vibe and most importantly, have all the amenities updated. The challenge? The kitchen is in an uncommon trapezium layout. But our interior designer Ashwini Gokhale loves a good challenge. From an unorganised space, the kitchen is now efficient, updated and prepped to cook a storm!
While the base cabinets take the spotlight in metallic silver acrylic finish, the top cabinets have been done in a lighter hue of grey. Its anti-scratch feature makes the kitchen easy-maintenance. In addition, a grey quartz countertop completes the look. Since the kitchen stands in an interesting trapezium layout, Ashwini trimmed and cleaned it up to accommodate more counter space.
The kitchen has an abundance of sunlight pouring in, thanks to the number of wide windows put in. Blinds were a better choice than putting in standard kitchen curtains. To take it up a notch, Ashwini added profile lights under the top cabinets. Also, notice how open glass shelves have been used beside the top cabinet. Glass is an excellent way to reflect more light into your space.

Loved the sink and dish drying area where water will go straight into the sink. Will use the idea in my kitchen for sure 👍🏻

Who is going to wash and dry the cutlery everytime like in a showroom. So those cutlery storage is a big waste isn't it?
Rather give a steel mesh to store such just above the sink.

How much u paid?
Most stupid placement of exhaust fan. Indian cooking is all about oil. Whole kitchen gets an oily coating if you don’t place exhaust fan or chimney above the gas. Most probably you don’t cook or enter the kitchen in your own house. All the style is of no use if there’s no practicality.
