      It IS wrong because "u" and "w" are NOT the same letter, so "double u" doesn't make sense.

      It may have been funny to you, but it wasn't brilliant, it didn't fit the question, and it wasn't pretty damn clever.
      The question was "Name a word that would follow 'pork.' " An answer like "loin," "chop," "rinds," etc, would have made sense. But "UPINE" was BEYOND STUPID! Why? Because the contestant who said was obviously thinking of the word "porcupine." The question, however, had to do with the word "pork," which ends with the letter "k." Is there a "k" in "porcupine"? NO! If there's no "k" in "porcupine," then it doesn't fit in with "pork."
      Besides, "upine" isn't even a real word. It's only a PART of a word, so it doesn't count.

    How is “September” NOT number 1? I thought that was automatic… then I remembered “gynecologist,” haha!… which is mysteriously absent from the list!

    • @michaelpalmieri7335
      @michaelpalmieri7335 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason "gynecologist" was "mysteriously absent from the list" is because it wouldn't have made any sense. The question was "At what month does a pregnant woman begin to 'show'?" (Begin to look pregnant) They were obviously going for a number, since an expectant mother would probably begin to "show" either during the fifth month, or the sixth, or seventh, etc. So, giving "gynecologist" as an answer would have been just as ridiculous as that woman who answered "September." And the reason that answer was dumb is because it presumes that the hypothetical woman in question became pregnant during one of the first few months of the year, so she might start to look pregnant in September. But, what if the baby was CONCEIVED in September? In such an event, the mother wouldn't "show" until one of the earlier months of the following year.

  • @2up3rm4n1
    @2up3rm4n1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    One of the alltime funniest bits was a family of three brothers, one of them named Charlie, blonde-haired fellow, Charlie's wife who looked like she could be his daughter and I think the last person was her mother, Charlie's mother-in-law.
    Charlie was playing the final round and Richard Dawson started asking the questions.
    Dawson: "Other than the bird, name something in a birdcage."
    Charlie: "A hamster."
    Dawson: "Name something a little boy might forget and leave at school."
    Charlie: "His trousers."
    Dawson: "How much would a dozen roses cost?"
    Charlie: "$1.98."
    There were reactions from the audience by the second answer, but the roses one got even more reactions.
    Dawson let the clock go, knowing none of these answers would be up there. Charlie was totally oblivious and stayed that way for the rest of the time they were on the show.
    The family came back and now the first guy, Charlie's brother, kind of picked it up and started messing with Richard, but Charlie still didn't have a clue.
    After a day or two, there was a question, "name something you would do before going to work," and the third brother said, "drinking."
    Dawson replied, "something I'm going to do if this family wins much more, . . . show me drinking."
    Poor ol' Charlie never did seem to catch on to what he had said.

      Everyone knows that Popeye's favorite food is spinach. Even little kids know it, since they probably saw the old Popeye cartoons on TV. It was also mentioned in the live-action movie "Popeye" (1980) with the late Robin Williams in the title role. (Actually, in the film, Popeye at first says that he HATES spinach, but in the end, he learns to like it)
      The lady must have been thinking of the Popeye's Chicken restaurant chain, which ironically, wasn't named after Popeye the cartoon character. It was named after Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle, Gene Hackman's detective character in the movie "The French Connection." (1971) The character was based on NYPD detective Eddie Egan, who investigated the real French Connection drug case.

    All mammals have eggs. They might not LAY them, but their eggs exist. They are just super small and inside their body. While it was not going to make it on the board as a most common answer, technically it is true that you wouldn't see hamster eggs on the breakfast table.

    On the Australian version in the 70s it was the host, Tony Barber, who made the slip-up. He asked a man "Have you got a boyfriend?" When realising what he'd just said Tony immediately looked terribly embarrassed and said, "Oh no, I'm sorry, forgive me. I meant to say have you got a girlfriend?" The young bloke had the sense to see the funny side and responded, "No, I'm gay." The gaffe became quite famous as a blooper reel highlight.
