    Hi Lars, I'm a hobby guy who built a cnc router a year ago. Arduino/GRBL based. You are my go to source as new questions arise . You are very good at taking technical topics and explaining them in terms that a non technically trained person can understand and implement. Thanks so much.

    Thanks. More than 3 years later this still works with the newest Fusion version. I added the WorkBee - Duet.

    Used the library this week for the first time to get a post for LinuxCNC-turn, but didn't know realized how to upload to the cloud library until watching this video. I like the idea of using the posts that come with (and hopefully are updated with) Fusion360, but I also like the idea of making a copy of those posts that I use so I know what to expect and know when they update (so I can keep an eye on the output.)

    yay HSM gets a mention. I never hear about it anymore, We worked with those guys closely a number of years ago to create a post for a machine we purchased so we could go from inventor->HSM->FANUC all from the comfort of my desk... Oh the good old days

    • @cadcamstuff
      @cadcamstuff  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      HSM is still around and the team is doing hard work here at Autodesk 😊 It is kind a cool that all the HSM tools drives CAM within Fusion, Inventor and SOLIDWORKS with HSMWORKS

      @madaxe79 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cadcamstuff Yeah cool. I'm in the process of starting my own company and will be basically dong all the same stuff again that i was doing before for someone else, so I'll look forward to working with HSM again in the future when i get big enough to be able to buy the size machines i was working with before.
      Fusion will get me started, but i can't wait to be able to afford to use Inventor again, fusion is like a toy, whereas Inventor is like a tool. I miss having Vault and spreadsheet driven designs where i can copy a previous design, alter 2-3 parameters in the design sheet and spit out a whole new design with all the drawings, all the part numbers, everything ready to send one side to the workshop for manufacturing and the other side to the client.

  • @petermenningen338

    Missed live stream today and this week. It seems that every time Fusion updates your imported post is lost during update. Also if you work on multiple machines the file is local. so if you have many users posting to a machine they all need to install locally.

    Hey Lars! I love your videos, you are great!
    For some reason this method wasn't working for me.
    However, in messing around with Post Processor tab in Fusion 360, I discovered a different method.
    Clicked OPEN FOLDER under the setup button to take me to the root file. Then I dragged the PP file I downloaded into the root file.
    It also added it to the drop-down box too!

    Great videos. I have the Fusion 360 Personal version and while I can open up and use CAM (Manufacturing), It doesn't have Tormach as an option in Machine Setup. Also, to the point of this video, when I open the Preferences like you do, there is no CAM entry even though the rest of the preferences look the same. Also under Actions / Post Processor, I can download a Tormach.cps and put it in a folder, set the Personal Post Library to that folder like in the video but it won't load the .cps file?
    Is this not supported because its the free version or am I missing something?

      You're welcome. Keep up the good work:)
      P.S. Now, I'm in "Lofting Hell"! :D Have watched your vids, plus others, but none address the common error messages, like:
      - "One or more rails intersect a profile more that once"
      - "The rails do not intersect at all profiles."
      I've endeavored do constrain things, but must have something wrong:(
      Trying to model a paddleboard. Have searched "surfboard", and "airfoil", too. Alternatives to loft: perhaps Sculpt, or Patch?
      FYI, ultimately, client wants cross-sectional slices for CNC (I'm thinking 'Slicer' would be well-suited). And, hey, a great project for my foray into CNC!:)
      Tia.

      FYI, some things are definitely "connected". Created constructions lines, then construction planes based on them. Desired rail spline connects to the construction lines. When a line is moved, the plane, and spline move. Seems all "correct", but still wonky:( Hm?...

    I have a ".pp" post processor and Fusion wont recognize it. Is there a way to convert it or to get Fusion to recognize it?
    Appreciate your videos, BTW.

    I watch all your videos to learn Fusion 360. I am a technology instructor for the high school students taking advanced STEM programs for our local school district. In our lab, we have a new Roland MDX-540SA mill with a tool changer and rotary axis. I teach the students to use Fusion 360 to design parts and assemblies for their robotic projects. We would like to use the new Roland MDX-540SA to make parts designed in Fusion 360. I have searched the web and cannot find the Fusion 360 post-processor that supports the tool changer and rotary axis. You mentioned you can use another post-processor that has these similar features. Question do you know how I could set up the Roland post-processor to accommodate the tool changer and rotary axis or another one I might use? Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you

    Fusion 360 post for G&L 18T with G&L 8000B controller
    I recently started using Fusion 360, and have found posts that run in all the machines in the shop, with the exception of the G&L. I have been in contact with Autodesk trying to get a post that works. I have had no success in finding one. I have "tweeked" the post I have with good results, with the exception of circular interpolation. The controller does not recognize "R" for G2 or G3, so "I" and "K" is what it uses. I always get the error “CIRCULAR MODE PROGRAMMING ERROR”.
    Thanks for any help I can get!!
