Fun video. I think you are over-stretching the elastic. Try pulling the elastic over the spine and not over the open end. I think that is why the elastic is closer to the spine.

Since they asked for feedback, I'll offer mine. One thing I noticed was that the holes for the thread appeared to be drilled or punched out and thus, don't heal over the thread when sewn. I make leather notebook covers in a similar design and use an awl to open the leather for the thread. When done like that, the holes heal around the thread giving a much stronger and more attractive look. Also, using a stitching groove as a bed for the thread looks neater and protects the thread. Doing it as described certainly adds time and cost but the differences IMO are worth it.

Not sure I'd use the first two leather covers - altho' they were very robust looking (& I'd probably choose the 'natural' finish, too); the pen roll is fantastic, & not overly flimsy - but i'd want it in that natural finish; what also might be nice, is some form of inner closure - to hold the flap in place whilst over the pens. I imagine, two years on, that wrap has picked up some serious marks - which is the joy of leather goods - for they weather, well.

FYI, polyamide is the chemical name for Nylon! It is pretty much indestructible. Great review. I love unboxing videos, and you make it extra fun. :)

Other colour stitching would be great, and honestly I'd really like to see a leather strap+popper, instead of a wide elastic, or at least the option to have a closure more like a Filofax so you could choose it if you aren't a fan of the elastic. I just don't like the elastic on a leather good, a leather good is supposed to last for a long time, a piece of elastic may be garbage after a year of regular use. It's pretty much the only reason why I didn't order a cover from them immediately.
