    I wish I had ran across your channel much much sooner, I had some AP2802E that ran me crazzzzy, CAPWAP protocol has its ups and downs. You done very well!

    Thanks very helpful !!! I facing some issue , wlc 5520 not have DHCP server(internet) . Should I use DHCP relay from L3 device ?

      Internal DHCP feature is no more supported on AireOS, so we have to move the DHCP service to any other capable device in the network. It can be your Gateway device (Router/Switch with DHCP capability) or any server (Windows/Linux) in any your network. You can use DHCP server(Primary & Secondary) configuration in your interface on WLC and in some scenarios you can use "helper address' too.
      Even though this question is posted on CAPWAP process but i hope this is not for APs, even for APs the DHCP model will be same.

    Recently we have an issue with wireless in a customer.... some users weren't getting IP address from the DHCP via wireless. We could see the users connected but without IP addresses. I checked the access points, some policies and no issues found. The lan (cabling) was working issues free. After all stressed caused by the customer, a colleague decided to clear the arp table, and all users started get their IPs. What's the relation between ARP table and DHCP?

      Looks like a Bug and AP is not forwarding some of the packets. Cisco TAC will be the right team for providing the RCA for issues like this. If AP is able to serve one client successfully that means the configuration is correct, everything else will fall under limitations like there is no IP available for DHCP, etc. As you already validated all those areas then only reason for this will be an issue from AP side.

    Once we add AP to WLC I am not able to access AP through ssh or telnet is there any additional configuration required?

    • @CiscoNetworking
      @CiscoNetworking  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to enable SSH/Telnet needs to be globally enabled in AP Global settings page. You have to provide the a credencials too as the factory default username will be no longer valid after associated with a WLC
