Interesting aside: one of Lisa's daughters is best friends with Dorinda Clark-Cole's daughter. Lisa Page-Brooks is also a Detroit girl and was the lead singer of a group called Witness back in the day. Lisa's husband, Michael Brooks, was part of the gospel group Commissioned back in the day.

As a gospel singer myself, I appreciate your "Afterthought". My first vocal coaches were Myrna Summers and Prof. Theodore King. The discipline and dedication they taught me still resonates today. I, too, sang under Mattie Moss Clark and she was instrumental in my vocal training. With all that and a fervent love for God, I refuse to sing anything but gospel. Also, Lisa Page Brooks does not sing. She ministers.
