    I LOVE that you address foot position. From a guy with flat feet / inward turning knees / knee surgery your pragmatic approach is a godsend. Foot position is #1 check on my KB workout now. I just ordered a 10lb club to help with my shoulder and I am super excited! Been a long time jump roper (10+ years) and I am already noticing a difference since integrating KBs and I'm thinking clubs will be another great addition.

    Hello Mark. So I found it difficult initially to keep my feets generally facing forward at first (after hearing about your knee surgeries), but I've come around to it. KB movements were generally more stable, but with the clubs, I found I had to rotate my body in order to perform the movement.
    I feel a lot of rotation in my upper body for example to the club stuff.
    Feels good man,

    Thanks Mark. What i notice in trying to perform these moves and keeping feet stable, the shock or energy wave (if you will) moves from the torso down the hips through the knees to the ends of my feet. By keeping stable I can clearly feel my weaknesses along this chain. Although the pain or strain is felt on the knees and ankles, should I follow your advice and work up to a decent weighted kettle bell, pin, dumbbell or (as i do) a plate, the real reason for the pain, weak muscles and squandered tendons should improve. You still can't find kettle bells so I throw the plates, sled, bags, and ropes into the back of my car and use an empty office building parking lot, especially the inclines. Thanks again.

    I see that professional kettlebell lifters lift their heels slightly when doing snatches e.g. th-cam.com/video/aCi1ISW0m40/w-d-xo.html
    Is that fine, or should we just leave that to the professionals?

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s an efficiency adaptation. Leave feet on the ground for the first 3 years or so. That way your “base” (grounding in martial arts) is super strong. We will start talking about completion styles soon.
