  • White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park is easily one of the most scenic trails in Utah. Everyone should add this to their Overland Bucket-List. Plan at least two days to complete it, but three if you really want to take it in. We were rushed to complete the White Rim Trail this trip, but the next time I do it, I'll plan two nights of camp.

    Enjoyed the video! We did the trail in the spring several years ago (actually did it in the opposite direction), camped at Taylor the first night and were supposed to camp at Murphy Hogback the second but rain and then a full on blizzard set in so we just pushed through. With all the mud and snow, my passengers didn’t enjoy it and yea, we nearly ran out of gas too! In a LR4 as well.

    Cool use of the 360 camera! I used one of those stuck to the front of an airplane for a promo video I did back in 2018. Same principle as you here... out as far as possible in front on a pole.

  • @ads9765
    @ads9765 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's not the 360 camera that causes the problem, it is the fact that the bronco is the focal point of the shot which of course is bouncing around causing all the motion sickness out there. Having the view of what is ahead instead of what is behind will focus our eyes on what is in the distance. Farther view equals less bounce.

    Curious what time you set out at the top of Shafer on day 1?
    A group of fellow Bronco loons and I are heading out late March, same exact plan you did with Murphy’s as the camp spot.
    Trying to gauge our timeframes.
    I’ve had to make camp after dark too many times.
    Would rather be relaxing and watching the sun go down, snug and set up already.

  • @billj5645
    @billj5645 ปีที่แล้ว

    You didn't show the tow strap to get those LRs up Murphy Hogback, that's probably what happened to your gas.
    If you can get a camp near the center of the trail then one night and 2 full days is enough. There is a lot of demand for those camps and they are hard to get. If you can't get near the center, it is hard to do the remainder of the trail in one day so 2 nights would be better.
    The Mineral Bottom switchbacks are no inside the national park, that is why the cars have been left there.

      360 footage didn’t turn out as I expected. But I can’t say I HATE it. It works. A little over-used for this video, but being that I couldn’t review it on the trail, it’s what we are stuck with.
