Red used PKSM To Lower the Level of his Pokémons and some News Moves
The lvl is more to do with what lvl the players pokemon will be at that stage in the game, it has nothing to do with Red getting "weaker" over time or there being a new version on that pokemon.
Basically, Lvl does not correspond with time, it has to do with in game balance.
If they gave Red and Blue all lvl 100 pokemon when you just beat the League with lvl 60-65 pokemon, everyone would be bitching about that.
He's not the same Red we fighted in G/S/C or the remakes. He's Red from the universe were Mega Evolution exists.
***** Until they remake gen 1 again, we don't have much of a choice but to include FRLG into this timeline.
The most recent Red fight was brutal because I had no idea it was going to happen. I walked into the Battle tree with a team of weaker pokemon I was grinding using the Poni Gauntlet, save for a Kommo-O that was already at half health. You don't get an option to say no, so I had to beat him using just my Kommo-O while occasionally using the weaker pokemon as sacrifices to revive

I really don't like where they took Red in the recent games. In Gold/Silver, it was special, it wasn't just a fight, it was a fight against yourself. Now he's just some loser that gets beaten all the time.
Local Scrub in sun and moon he was a push over but in heart gold/soul silver he was just as tough and of not tougher than in gold/silver/crystal

May be nostalgia, but I think sprites are so much better than 3d models. Also battle music in gen 4 is freaking awesome. Gen 6 and 7 really miss these important details!

Typhlosion has a tail?
Francesco Sardella That always bothered me when I raised them. Quilava has a poofy butt like a peacock or something. Cyndaquil and Typhlosion don't appear to have a tail at all. They might have a tiny bulldog-like tail but what exactly is Typhlosion hitting the opponent with, his/her butt?

When you realize back then the games where much more tougher. Now you can just beat the new games with ease. If you were literally brand new to the Pokémon games I promise you, you will have no issue beating Sun or Moon in a few hours.
Agreed, I love all of them. And in no way I would dis any of the games. I even love off series like Pinball, Poke Channel, Hey You Pikachu!, Pokemon Snap had to be my favorite. That is why my career is photography.
Simple And Clean I beat Pokémon yellow being 10 levels lower than the champion, so yeah, first games weren't harder. The harder games for me are all the gen3 games, diamond/pearl and black/white 1
And I still have to play a gen2 game to its end to know if it's that hard

Red's theme in HG and SS was the best one. The simple beginning of the song after you "talk" to him basically tells you you are about to face *HIM*. It gets you pumped up and I always have goosebumps.

Before you bitch about how his pokemon's levels were higher in Gen 2, keep in mind that it's easier for your trainer in Gen 2 to match those levels than in Gen 7; Gen 2 had two regions for your pokemon to develop through after all.
I personally play Pokémon Gold on my Gameboy Color. It's not as easy as you think, there's more grass than trainers, and most trainer encounters are half the level of your Pokémon, so you barely get any EXP. I think my Gyarados is still 20 levels under Red's Pokémon.
yeah original GS had shitty trainer level pacing. I remember grinding in victory road to get leveled up.
HGSS did a bit better but then the levels shot up again (not a bad thing. more pokes more moves)

Every battle in RBY including champion, GSC Silver battles in Kanto and Johto, RSE battles with May, then Wally, then Steven if he counts due to theme. FRLG would be same as RBY but including rematch. DPPt would be every battle in-game including battle frontier area. HGSS same as GSC but with extra battles including rematches at E4 with Silver. BW the entire game, BW2 when Hugh is pissed off (75% of the time) then when he is in Team Plasma building in Driftveil daily. XY 99% of the game is rivals, ORAS is same as RSE, but Wally rematch (timer rng reset though, not daily, but can be completed daily). Sun and Moon is Gladion and Hau battles + Battle Royal + Elite Four Rematch. I don't know about the side games, and if you have a friend/family member irl you play against that counts too XD

The more HP the Pokemon has such as 200 or 300, the slower the bar goes. Blissey has over 400 HPs. Imagine how slow hers go.
Makes sense, especially with 1 shots. I do notice that a little in sun and moon, its just too slow
in the time that Blissey´s bar goes down you can beat two pokemon games

I believe the biggest advantage that Red has is the fact that his Pokemon can deal a crap ton of damage, especially if you're not expecting the level jump. Other than that he is a rather simple yet effective boss.
